[IMG] I am about to play through BG2:TOB for the hundredth time, I believe. I have the Solaufein Mod v100 installed (along w/ tob, patched, and ease of use, tatics, UB v6, item up grade) and I was wondering if it would be better to get Sola as soon as I can then go back and do some of the quests from Chapter 2 to let the relationship go farther.

    Any opinions?

You could go and try to get him as early as possible in the game. But with tactics installed, improved Irenicus, imp. beholders and imp. illithids will give you a rather hard time in Spellhold and the Underdark - to say the least.

The majority of the hard fights in the Underdark (with the Illithids and Beholders) can be avoided till later in the game. Grab Solufein and hightail it out of there asap then return at a later stage to do all the quests you couldn't hand first time round.

Does Improved Irenicus affect the Irenicus you fight in Spellhold? I thought it was just the end of the game fight that was made harder. Even if it does, you can beat him in Spellhold by keeping all your party well away from him and leaving him to the inmates. Provided you hit him with a few Pierce Shields and Dispel Magics, they should be able to get the better of him.

Well, I know for sure that improved Bodhi fights you in chapter 3. Hard, but not impossible.

I just did a game where I rushed through to get Solaufein as early as possible. I made it without a great deal of difficulty. I just got out of the Underdark and my party consists of characters level 11-14.

The improved Bodhi fight in chapter 3 isn't that difficult as she's alone and you can prepare beforehand. Fill the area where she appears with either snares or Skull Traps (or both) and then hit her from a distance with spells and arrows and the fight will be over before you know it.
