[IMG] Solo Avenger (Druid kit). Has anyone tried this? My brother is thinking about this and could use some tips. Any insight?

Don't do it, druid aren't the right class to solo with and I think avengers is one of the lesser druid classes (Totemic Druid is the best), but don't bother to try play that way.

You could always try, though you´ll probably get yer ass kicked :p
Let me know how your Avenger works out though.

Avenger? What are you saying? He'll slip solo like on butter, so to say. No druid is more capable, even if we are not to use his additional shapechanges(those come handy sometimes though), he is almost a pure druid (which is quite easy to go solo)
STR and CON penalties? Ooh, 16's just enough for everything, and STR is better to be set at 10 (absolutely for the reason of practicity :)) and upgrade to 19 with girdle of hill giant str. asap.

I have heard someone on another board *ducks for cover* ;) doing it and he did quite well actually. Just remember that you are able to wear all Dragon armor and Ankheg Plate. That way you will get a pretty decent AC.

Why do you say: Don't do it and then come up with reasons to do it. Of course it's not easy but that won't say it'sa not cool, funny or a challenge. The game isn't very hard and when you have a real challenge by making it some harder, why shouldn't you do it?

I remember a guy (nobleman?) playing a solo wizard slayer and he had very much fun playing it... I say: GO FOR IT! You'll not regret it.

Yes, you should try it. I played a shapeshifter in party but it was such a bore!
Perhaps it is more fun when playing solo...

Sounds good, I think he'll try it, but he's going to finish the game he's working on now first. It's easy to get caught up in future plans.

[IMG] Ok, it was I that finished BG2 solo with a Wizard Slayer. Nobleman also started and wrote a wonderful story but his character died and that was it. He made a bad mistake in character creation in not getting enough intelligence to read scrolls, particularly scrolls of restoration. ;)

You can find a thread from another player who solo'd with a Shapeshifter too, so if you want to go with Avenger then do it. Any character classs/kit can solo BG2.
