[IMG] I have played Baldurs gate 2 now quite a few times and it is beginning to become real easy by now so i was looking for a bit of a more challenge

Reading through the forum i got hungry for a solo Fighter/mage/theif but thinking through i accounted a problem...

Golems, how would i beat those? Magic and thievery wont work much since they have resistance and you cant backstab with bluntweapons and going up against 2-3clays and an iron/adamantite golem would prove pretty hard

I was maybe thinking stoneskins and a nice mace maybe

    Any tips?

Try Stoneskin/Mirror Image combo. And then beat them to death with the Staff of Rynn +4, Flail of The Ages +3 or Mace of Disruption +2(strikes as +5 though) ;)

When you get the staff of the magi all fights against golems are easy: just re-equip the staff to turn invisible again, golem stand no chance. Other than this cheesy tactic I suggest running away to chokepoints on the map were you can fight one at a time. If you can get the largest golem stuck first you can use any distance weapon capable of damaging the golems to first take out the smaller golem who can't reach you because of the big guy. Potions of absorption (IIRC or else an other potion that grants a bonus AC vs Blunt weapons)are also very usefull against these mosnters, combine it with the girdle of bluntness it will grant you a AC bonus vs their attacks of +14! Combined with your normal AC if it's low enough of course ;) they will probably only hit you on a 20. And in that case mirror image and stoneskins will keep you safe. Good luck!

It surely is, because you can't hide in shadows all the time, and it's much easier to protect one, than many...

The Rod of Smiting is to Golems what the Mace of Disruption is to Undead. You can even backstab with it (although I don't remember whether golems can ever be backstabbed). Anyway, you buy the Rod of Smiting from the mage merchant in the Underdark.
