    One interesting fact about this flight, Fossett received no credit for cross county flight. Pilots track statistics on their flying time and miles, and for this flight he officially go 0 stats for "cross county" flight. :confused:

    The reason? He landed at the same airport he took off from. You have land at an airport at least 50 knots away from the airport you take off from for the flight to be considered "cross country" by the FAA. Doesn't matter that he flew approx 20,000 knots, he didn't make a "cross country" flight, according to the FAA.

    Ahhh, I love bureaucracy! :rolleyes:
