Traps are easy enough, you just take the damage. Only a few of them pose any real threat to your solo fighter (i.e. one that would maze him).

As for mages, your just going to have to handle the heat while they are immune to your attacks. Saving throws adjusted by potions will help. Being very proficient in a short bow, will give you quick firing time to disrupt their spells before they get them off. Only triggers will you have to watch out for.

Darts are fast too. If you really hate mages then become a wizard slayer ;)

Darts... are you serious? 1d3? There aren't that many magical darts to be had either...

Aren't that many? I was practically tripping over darts of wounding last game, and used them to great effect vs mages. They're great for wizard slayers because of the cumulative spell failure. More hits = more spell failure.

How about the cloak of stars? It can be used to make 5 or 10 (I'm not sure...) +5 darts once a day and they last for a whole day. It's probably one of the few renewable sources of good darts. Hope that was useful.

    Cheers, Void

Maybe I just don't pay attn since I never put much stock in them. Do they honestly fire significantly faster than say a short bow or anything else? I've never played straight up fighter so I've always circumvented mages in alternative manners.

i just wanna say....if you wanna play this game solo as a fighter it might be kinda annoying youd miss out on some of the stuff....like everything behind a locked door.....thats why id say you should be a fighter/theif....or a fighter/mage who has knock doors memorized alot.but to each his own it might be fun soloing as a fighter....i know i had fun soloing as a scorceror...killing an entire town is fun!
