Some help on the thieves guild stronghold

I have started a Solo game, and I am a F/M/T so that I can actually do a bit of everything.

Anyway, I started the thieves guild stronghold bit, and everything started well. I did the first individual task, the one where you get ambushed by Mae-var's ex 'partner', and since then, no other business has occured, and ive been waiting for AGES and every time I ask, im told that there is nothing to do. So I waited, completed a few jobs for cash from other employers, and begun Watchers keep, and having to flee from the Chromatic demon, because he kicked my hiney. Other than the five day thief return, and having to pay my dues to Renal, nothing has happened for about 30 days (approx). Perhaps I should consult a walkthrough, but I dont want to spoil the whole stronghold for myself, as I'll get a little carried away with reading.

Or is it normal, cos ive become so bored waiting, I saved a game on the mainland, just in case, and continued onwards, saving under a different title. Personally, if it is mean't to do this, they can keep the guild, cos I'm only in it for some interesting events.

Any info would be helpful, but it is now doubtful I would re-load the old game as i'm now in the underdark. So far, my thieves have returned, but Renals Quartermaster message hasn't appeared, so I might be lucky, but how long will he wait before closing the place down.

 

I cant give you the details..for two reasons. One you dont want it to be spoiled for you, and Two, b/c i dont know exactly what goes on in that stronghold, even though that is the only one i have played. There are only two quests in the thief stronghold, that i know of. There is the one where Maevar's ex partner comes and you go through that..and one fairly close after that that you have to tell your Second-in-command or whoever, what to do about the little thief skimming from profits. Other than those two..i dont know of any others.

As to whether Renals Quarter master shows up while your in the Underdark, i dont know. i had already lost the guild by that time from forgetting about it while adventuring.

First off, there are only 2 quests, and the rest is just paying your dues. I seriously doubt that he would show up in the Underdark...the quest timer is probably just turned off or something until you get back to Athkatla. I finished it by simply resting a million times, as I didn't want to lose it...

 

Phew, I just got out of the underdark literaly 5 minutes ago. Fortunatly, as you've pointed out, Renals quartermaster only just turned up as I hit the surface.

To say the least, i'm a little disapointed with the lack of missions you get in the thieves guild, but it doesn't really matter, I suppose.
