    [IMG] This topic is for anybody who likes making mods. I would make them, but I am, eh, a bit lacking in the mod-making knowledge department. There's a list followed by my ideas for what the mods could contain. I don't know what people will think of them, but these are just my primary ideas. Enjoy! :D

    * Lara Croft NPC
    * Element Kit Pack
    * The Arena
    * Imp. Battles
    * Talk Pack
    * Ghost mod
    * Animal Adoption mod

    Lara Croft NPC
    An NPC like the female tomb raider Lara croft. I've got a portrait of her from a game manual, and someone who sounds a bit like her could do a voice set. She could have been teleported to Athkatla by using some artifact she found in a tomb or something, I dunno.

    Element Kit Pack
    Element kits for each class. These would be Ignan (Fire), Aquan (Water), Auran (Air), and Terran (Earth).e.g. Ignan Fighter would have fire abilities, fire resistance, weak against water (takes double damage).

    The Arena
    Like the arena/fighting pit in the CC, you could have a new area where you can fight other people and win money if you win. Or you could fight monsters. Either way, it's similar to the pit in the Underdark tavern.

    Imp. Battles
    This could make all creatures harder to fight, e.g. have more HP, higher levels, better AI, better AC etc. Bit like on Insane difficulty but just generally harder to fight, as well as doing more damage. Similar to the Imp. Gromnir, Illasera etc.

    Talk Pack
    This is my favourite idea. It could work in a similar way to the flirt packs, in that you speak to the NPC then you can talk to them and find out more about them, find out how they are feeling, whether they are happy travelling with you etc.

    Ghost mod
    Another fave idea. If you have an NPC who has been killed in your party, they could come back and fight with you as a ghost. To get a ghostly portrait, (and this is BRILLIANT! :D ), you put the portrait on Paint then select Attributes, then Invert colours. It's amazing! But they would be the same as they were in life, just different portraits and colours.

    Animal Adoption mod
    This one is a bit g...eh, I mean, strange. :D You could adopt an animal from the "zoo" in the Promenade by speaking to that Fearghus guy, then either interact with the animal e.g. stroke it, feed it etc., or be able to summon it during a battle via a special ability. A bit like a familiar, I guess.

    So, what do you think of my ideas?

    Mmm, lots of "interesting" ideas, although the only one I'd really enjoy, personally, is the "Arena" idea. But SP is such a diverse community, I'm sure there will be takers on the other ideas, too :)

    Thanks for the creativity, and hopefully a modwriter will like some of your ideas and implement them!

    Lara Croft - guns are a nono. I doubt you'd find anyone willing to make it.

    Elemental kits - four new kits for each class!?! :eek: Are you mad, man? But there are some elementalist mage kits somewhere, IIRC.

    The Arena - Well, the arena fights in the Underdark could be expanded, possibly add a new area, etc. But personally...
    /me checks forum
    (Good, it's ToB.) Personally, I'd like to see something like the endurace challenge down in the lowest level of WK, where waves and waves of enemies keep spawning without giving you a chance to rest. That was the only part I really liked about ToB apart from some of the items.

    Imp. Battles - Talk to Silverstar about that one. ;)

    Talk Pack - A cross between Banter Pack and Flirt Pack, eh? It'd be nice, but I'm not about to go out of my way to dig info out of NPCs. I'd much prefer just expanding the Banter Pack (not that I've even tried it as is yet).

    Ghost mod - Actually, there's already two undead NPCs on the market. Horace is a skeleton NPC with a unique kit, and Neh'Taniel is an undead knight NPC.

    Animal Adoption - Just get a familiar. :p

    -There's already the Elementalist kits out there, although I'm pretty sure only the acid one was released.
    - Tactics Mod already does all the improved AI, HP, and all that stuff.
    -If the party member was a ghost, wouldn't they gain the benifits of undeath, like immunity to certain effects and weapons? If not, then what's the point of getting a ghost NPC, and if so, what's the point of not just kibblifying your entire group and attacking your enemies with a horde of specters?

    Okay, after my last post of ideas, I’ve thought up a few more. One in particular is (IMHO) pretty good, and would tie up one of the loose ends found in the game. Here they are, then:

    *Yusef’s Revenge
    *Meet NPC-related characters
    *Improved “Not the Bhaalspawn five but people who are pretty powerful anyway” mod

    Yusef’s Revenge
    This is my “pretty good” idea. When you have Anomen Delryn in the party and you decide to go and kill Saerk Farrahd, his son, Yusef, is also involved in the battle. However, when you have almost defeated him, he states “I’ll get you yet!” or something similar, then you never hear from him again. So what happens to him, and why doesn’t he go back and “get” Anomen like he said he would? So here’s a mod idea to explain what happens to Yusef.
    My idea for this is a big battle that can go in two ways, and is different depending on whether you have CN Anomen or LG Sir Anomen in the party, and the decisions you took to reach those statuses. If you advise Anomen to go and kill Saerk (and he becomes CN), Yusef says after the battle “I’ll get you yet!” or something. This could add a large battle later on (e.g. Amkethran?) whereby you battle Yusef and his lackeys. This battle could be made to be quite hard, with high-level opponents with good stats and items at their disposal.
    However, if you tell Anomen NOT to kill Saerk (and he becomes LG and gets knighted), then later on Saerk kills Cor Delryn and, with Anomen’s urging, you are able to barge into his house and send him off to jail via Bylanna Ianulin. In this case, Yusef would be angry that his father had been imprisoned, and he would be fighting for revenge for Saerk. This way, because Anomen is wiser and a good-doer, there could be two options. You could either fight Yusef (as in the CN Anomen version), (causing Anomen to leave the party?) or you could convince him that his father was an evil man who got his comeuppance. If you had, say, a high-ish charisma, you would be able to convince him it is for the best and part amiably.

    Meet NPC-related characters
    This one’s not quite as good as some of my other ideas, but I’ll include it all the same. This mod could add some characters to the game that the NPCs in your party mention, e.g. Jaheira’s parents and the boy who Aerie supposedly rescued. It would just add some banters and some insight into certain character’s pasts.

    Improved “Not the Bhaalspawn five but people who are pretty powerful anyway” mod
    There’s probably something like this already, but here’s the idea for this anyway. There are certain NPCs both in ToB and SoA that are major fighting characters, but aren’t those “big battle” people like Irenicus, Bodhi, the 5 etc. So this mod would improve those opponents that are tough battles anyway, but not the Five. Some examples would be:
    Melissan, Draconis, the Shadow Dragon, Firkraag, the black dragon in Suldanesselar, the Rune battle, the Unseeing Eye, Saladrex (dragon in Watcher’s Keep), Demi-Lich, Kangaxx, Mae’Var
    There are probably loads more, but that’s all I can think of for now.

    I also noticed just now that I didn’t make the ghost mod very clear, so here’s my second attempt to make it clearer. The NPC who has died will come back as a ghost one day after they died, as long as you haven’t raised them, resurrected them, or removed them from the party or they were chunked/turned to stone/imprisoned etc. They will still be able to fight for you, have banters, romance etc. However, you can get them back as they were originally if you then cast raise/resurrect on them. Basically, this would be for those people who can’t be bothered to waste time memorizing Raise Dead, getting rid of it, memorizing something else then resting to get their spell back, or those people who are sick with visiting the Temples constantly to get their dead allies back to life.

    @Felinoid - for the Elemental kits, it could just be fighter and cleric kits, rather than four for each class, I suppose. And the Lara Croft one, she could have lost her guns or they've been taken from her or something. I dunno. :D

    Yeah, it was only the acid element kit. I, personally, don't consider acid to be an element, but other people will probably disagree with me.

    There have already been two mods that souped up Firkraag (although one of them was intended as a parody). Likewise, the rest of those have been souped up by at least one mod.

    That does sound like a fun project, though.

    About the ghost mod: couldn't the PC go to a temple and have them resurrected if they don't want to memorize the spell? Perhaps it should include benefits and downsides, such as increased abilities, but they can only fight at night, or somesuch. Or, the mod should affect the way that raise dead can be used, such as having a counter on each person, so that when they are raised, they lose a point. When they reach zero points (perhaps start it at one or two), they become a ghost permanently, with different abilities.
