[IMG] I've been here a while now, but there are still some things I don't understand about the workings of SP.

For instance, what exactly is the difference between an Administrator and a Moderator? Being neither myself, I wouldn't know. I mean, there's the respect issue, most people shy away from aggravating the Mods, and Taluntain even more so, but are there things Tal can do that Extremist or Blackthorne can't? The FAQ isn't really all that specific. Of course, if it's just technical stuff, I'd understand the omission.

Also, if someone was declared Idiot of the Week, and then someone else did something even worse, would the title/curse be applied to both of them, would it be moved, or what?

On a side note, I've got to hand it to the guys in charge. I don't realistically think I could handle being a Moderator. It surely takes up a great deal of time, and you'd have to resist just banning everyone who annoys you, or closing every topic that you don't agree with. (Or is it just Tal that can that? Again, I'm not sure.) Hats off to the Mods and our great Admin. I'd appreciate some answers.

[IMG] The difference between Moderator and Administrator, is that Moderators usually 'moderate' or watch over the boards, while Administrators created them. Ie. Moderators are below Admins.

IIRC, Moderators can: Close, Open, Delete and Move Posts and Topics. Whereas Administrators can do the above, as well as Delete/Create Forums, Categories. Ban members etc.

If someone was made Idiot of the Week, then did another offence, then I presume Tal would ban them.

[IMG] BTA is an administrator as well, so he can do anything with the boards that I can. (That is, anything that doesn't require direct access to the board files on the server.) Admins also have access to the board's control panel where basically all settings are saved and from where everything is controlled. Moderators only have the limited power inside the forums they moderate - they can move, close, edit and delete topics in those forums.

I'm the one that sets the shame plaques though. Only one person at a time can have the IoTW or GMoTW plaque, so if someone else deserves it at the same time I try to PM them out of their ignorance or just wait till it's their turn for the plaque. But we haven't really had that happen more than once or twice at the same time.
