    i like sorcerers better because
    1. no copying spells
    2. very large memory. i mean, the first time you qualify for lv 6 spell, you get to memorize one and use it 3-4 times, pretty awsome.

wizards do have advantage, such as more spell selection and such, but sorcerers are way to go. hell, you can have a sorcerer that's so dumb he cant tie his shoes but can still hurl devastating acid storms

    Hard do say...

Both have advantages, but in different situations.

But, if you twisted my arm up my back,
crushed my foot with a hammer
and nicked my head in a root jar,

    I hust had to say;

    Sorcerer... :thumb:

Because when you get Improved Invisibility,
you can cast it on all of you'r
    characters at once

(very good for 6 char. teams)

There is already a topic on this one (one of mine actually) but what the hell!

Wizards are better than sorcerers I think, becouse you have more control over what your spells are, when you can use them, and how many you have. You can write spells from scrolls as well as just use them immediatly. The sorcerer can only use them once. One big advantage of a sorcerer on the other hand is that his casting stat is charisma, wich means his conversational abilities as well as spellcasting are very good! Still, I prefer the wizard.

Sorc is good for a party leader. Actually it's probably the best leader possible, esp. Aasimar one. 20 charisma from the beginning...

Wizard however gets both spells and skill points for his solely honed intelligence.

If you want my opinion, why not both? And they say who's better. Especially if you don't suffer from Severe Paladinisation Disorder that makes you run a yourself-based paladin as the party leader (heheheh). :D

I'll admit, the idea of being able to spin out Chain Lightning multiple times sounds cool.

On the other hand, there are certain very useful spells that only need to be used once during a batle. e.g. Mass Haste, Chaos, Lower Resistance, etc. In such situations, having a Wizard pays off.

The Intelligence that comes with being a wizard also means better use of skills like Spellcraft, Knowledge: Arcana, etc.

I definitely prefer wizards. In fact, now that I use a Diviner who misses out only on Conjuration spells, I miss a sorcerer even less now. Properly developed, a Wizard rarely if ever lacks for spell power in a battle.

That depends solely on how many INT you give them.

But yeah, two sorcerers and one wizard. Killer combination. Really nice when you get three chainlightnings off in one pack of monsters

I agree. If you're not using a bard or paladin for a leader, then a sorcerer is a good choice.

Now, the one thing that I've not heard, and not been able to figure out is Charisma.

Usually, with the rules, they don't just arbitrarily say "Play Balance- Charmisma". They (Black Isle; Wizards of the Coast, kind of "they") usually come up with a rhyme or a reason for their decision.

Bards need charisma. Yeah, you can image that one. Clerics need wisdom; yeah, that's cool.

    But Charisma for a Sorcerer?

    Yep. Uh-hunh.

[IMG] Sorcerers are just stronger. The only spell that boosts charisma is eagle splendor, infact you are not only boost the CHA but and the DC of your sorcerer.I`ve seen CHA 32(+11)wich makes the spells very, very difficult to resist.10+11+4=25!Well the wizards can gain more feats(all spell focuses and elemental masteries)but they are not as good as sorcerers.Wizards are oftenly used for multiclasing to fighters because of their cool protective spells but if you want to have good offensive magic user:paly sorcerer!
