Sorcerian Pantheon

Discussion in 'Whatnots' started by Sir Yerril of Morningmist, Mar 5, 2002.

  1. Yerril (intermediate god)

    miniwoo, Morningmist, Sir_Yerril, SYoM

Symbol: Handsome pale-skinned Deva wielding a flaming blue sword
    Alignment: LG
Portfolio: Guinea Pigs, Subtle Undertones, Virtual Fights, Purity, Virtue
Domains: Good, Strength, Beauty, Protection, Spamming
    Favoured Weapon: “Carsomyr II” (greatsword)

Yerril (YEAH-rill) is an enthusiastic young deity, who is popular among newbies and old codgers alike. Although occasionally given to vanity, arrogance or pessimism, he is a being thoroughly imbued with the power of good. He enjoys saying things for the sake of saying them, to see what people say, although he is hardly ever offensive. Churches of Yerril are widespread, filled with optimistic young English students with hopes of one day publishing a bestseller. The main feature of the buildings is comfort and style, and no one, no matter what mistakes they may have made in the past, is unwelcome. Clerics of Yerril are given to making hints about people that are proven un-workoutable until at least six hours later, when the joke may be fully appreciated. Clerics have little patience for evil in its true form, and if their attempts at conversion fail, they are quick to destroy any malevolent souls.
Clerics of Yerril pray at 4.00 in the afternoon, and are well renowned for their stirring ballad; “That Was An Awful Day At School, Now Lets Get Down To Some Sorcering”, which is often sung on weekdays. Lawful clerics can freely multiclass as paladins.
History/Relationships: In everything he does, Yerril presents an open smile and friendly tone, so it is little wonder that he has many allies. They include Tiamat (with whom he has an intermittent romance ;) ), ArchAngel, Headmarnix, Ragusa, Big_B, Mathetias, and Sir Belisarius. He thoroughly agrees with Extremist’s up-Arcanum and down cheating attitudes, although he is not sure about the anti-spamming, anti-newbie, anti-D&D ones.
Yerril opposes deities of evil and immorality, such as Shura, but he knows that it is just their way. He is known to have great respect for Taluntain, the overfather.
Dogma: Be nice, be paladinly, suck up to the mods, and side with Extremist.

You do know Extremist that this looks exactly like the D&D deity things. So if you do submit you will use a D&D system :p

    Nobleman (intermediate god)

Cursed with "Archangel" and blessed with "Noble danger spam drinking"(yes danger is my middle name :1eye: ).

Symbol: Bitmap paperdoll of old grumpy man 4 kb.
    Alignment: LG
Portfolio: beer, parties and everything else.
    Domains: Fairness and joy
Favoured Weapon: none... well perhaps the M95 we used in the army.

Noble (YEAH-rill), often misspronounced, enduces his followers to stay drunk all the time. They must fight evil and unfairness even with this hadicap. Each day they must release a scroll to the public containing no less than 10 spellingmistakes per line. The followers should as their god mengle in any discussion or desturbance to try and make things joyfull and happy. And not the least fair. If not successfull they should confuse and elude.
History/Relationships: Noble tries to make the world a more fair place. Sometimes he gets into too complicated issues and sometimes he gets into them too fast. This gives some scrambles with greater gods like Taluntain. All in all Noble seeks refugee in the olympus chat wher he drink with the lord of drinking Avarahtar and quote amazing works at ridiculous speed with fellow intermidiate gods.
    Dogma: was a movie.

edit; did I abuse the system? :p :1eye:

    Slith (Young god)
Other names: Draconis, Dalitarios and Bubba

    Symbol: Whiskey shot glass
    Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Portfolio: Hunting, Whiskey Drinking and Cheese throwing
Domains: Slaughter, Death, Axe-Throwing and Dishonor
    Favored Weapon: Death-Axe of Slaughter

Slith is a deity that induces hatred and dishonor in all his followers. He has caused many horrible events, including, but not limited to: Bill Clinton being Re-elected, George W Bush being Elected, Roy Barnes (Mayor of Georgia) Being elected and the creation of Chlorine Gas.
History/Relationships: Slith causes annoyance in all but 5 individuals. He is partially accepted, if not well-liked in the Pantheon of Sorcerers Place.
Dogma: Help Sir Yerril (even though he is at the opposite end of the spectrum) Kill Wildfire and KILL!!!

    Mathetais (Elder God)

Other names: Holy One, The Great Avoider of Work, and some call me .... Tim
Symbol: A red cross on a white field
    Alignment: Lawful Good
    Portfolio: Theology, Movie Trivia, Fitness
Domains: Spirituality, Monogamous Sensuality and Health
    Favored Weapon: Long Sword

Mathetais is a loving deity whose goal is to convert the population of the realms to a monotheistic religion focused on the teachings of a group of desert wanderers and the fulfillment of their prophecies in the life of the Lion. Ironically, if Mathetais' goal is realized, his own divine status would be revoked.

History/Relationships: Mathetais is associated with Kitiara, the neutral evil goddess of Chat and Work Avoidance. He also spends time with Ragusa (the god of the short paladin), Marnix (the Help Desk Deity), and Extremist (Lawful Deity of the ShadowKeeper).

Dogma: To live is Holiness, to die is gain. Do not worry about the world coming to an end today, its already tomorrow in Australia.

    Extremist (extreme god)

Other names: n/a (impossible to be pronounced by mortals)
Symbol: two sided triangle with geared wheel (clockwork) on one side and spiral galaxy shaped symbole on another side
Alignment: CG generally, but turns into the same as the worshipper has
Portfolio: info on this was lost in time, only hex editor remained
Domains: psionics, philosophy, romance, manipulation, mocking, destruction of authorities in any field
Favored Weapon: Flame magick, Mace of Disruption and steamwork temporal bombs

Extremist is not easy to spot at first sight. The creature looks totally ordinary. But everyone who passes by Extremist more than twice feels the godlike energy burst.
Good towards good, evil towards evil, flexible towards flexible, possessive towards possessive, idiot towards idiot, etc
    Especially coldhearted towards coldhearted.
On starting relationship, always as good as he can. Listener. Able to understand. Able to make the time alive instead of killing it.
On later stages, returns all good and bad things to the related person. A nitpick with pretty good memory about "irrelevant" things.
Always plays fair unless the opponent tries with some lame trick. In such case, Extremist uses shapechange to MindFlayer or DemiLich.

History/Relationships: Most of it is lost in time. And it is for the better. On SP he currently evaluates the worth of relationships with persons who's hearts suddenly turned into stone.

    Dogma: Everything pays back.

[IMG] Sir Belisarius (Hero - I'm not so presumptuous as to claim to be a god :p )

Other names: Bel, Sir_Bel, Bellissimo, Girlisarius, Belapotamus...
Symbol: Golden Scales, balancing a beer in one, and a sword in the other.
    Alignment: Lawful Good
Portfolio: Jocularity, verbosity, tom-foolery, good-natured chivalry, tenacious in battle.
    Favored Weapon: Bastard Sword

Sir Belisarius wanders the realms in search of fun, adventure, good ale, and open minded maidens throughout the land. He is generally amiable, but will fight forcefully when the need arises.

History/Relationships: Sir Bel enjoys the company of most of the inhabitants of Sorcerer's Place, and can frequently be seen frolicking in the Friendly Arm in commenting on Kitiara's hair dye supply, Avarahtar's watching and scientific abilities, Arwen's general ferocity, Extremist's spunky optimism, Tiamat's seemingly endless supply of knowledge, Shadow Goddess' dishwashing techniques, Xenecor's ambiguosity, Wildfire's seemingly perpetual presence, Mathetais' sermons, Big_B's impressive Star Wars knowledge, Taluntain's restraint and even handedness in dealing with spammers, BTA's wielding of power, Darien's cheerful observations, Shralp's unending originality in devising new names, etc....

Dogma: Sue 'em all! Let the judge sort it out!

    Shura (Demi-God)
Symbol: A scroll between a crossed katana and wakizashi
Avatar: White haired human draped in black wielding two swords
    Alignment: N
Portfolio: Literature, Revenge, Education, Knowledge, and Art.
Domains: Death, Shadow, Strength, Anarchy, Psionics and Agility.
Favored Weapons: Bare Hands, Katana, and Wakizashi

Shura is known by many names, usually whispered among the paladins and celestials too fearful to speak his true name. Some names are Dream Ender, Soul Stealer, Ravager, Destroyer and most of all, The Dark Swordsman. His mortal life is mostly known through scraps of legend written by a mysterious scribe. It is a long, long one of rivers of blood and mountains of corpses and countless unspeakable tragedies. Demons have fallen to his blades, as have countless angels on his search for an unknown vengeance.

His avatar is easy to spot: mortals are always stricken with fear in his presence. A white haired, grim faced human, he speaks in curt tones, as if it hurts him to talk. Also, the two swords slung on opposite sides of his hips identify him. No warrior in the realms has perfected the art of fighting with both katana and wakizashi at the same time to the extent that he has.

His legend is one that many fighters and monks seek to emulate. They make up the greatest number of his worshippers, though they rarely pray to him. Shura answers no prayers anyway, so absorbed he is on his quest for vengeance. His clerics are extremely rare. Most of them do not realize that their divine powers stem from their own discipline and belief, rather than being granted by Shura. All of his worshippers are known to be obsessive about their craft, too engrossed in perfecting their skills to pay any attention to morality. They take what they want, whether or not it hurts someone else is of no consequence, as long as it furthers their goal. They do not go out of their way to spread malice and destruction, however. Hence, the worshippers of Shura are commonly mistaken for evil.

Relationships: Disliked by the goodly gods due to his vendetta against their celestial agents. His presence is tolerated, however, due to his respect for the Over-God, Taluntain. Shura accepts no allies and no followers, hence his solitary stance. Having given up on justifying his point of view to others long ago, Shura now just does things his way, heedless of the destruction he causes. The Dark Swordsman does not dwell in a permanent place. Instead, he wanders the planes ceaselessly.

Dogma: Do not hinder knowledge. Accomplish your goals through any means necessary. If you care about the ants in your path, you can never walk properly.

  11. DeBhaal Stasion (new god, rarely recognizes his own divinity)
Symbol: Crossed Arcane dirks, set on a background of blood.
Avatar: Medium height Elf, dressed in black studded leather, long flowing cape, cowl pulled low hiding the tattoo/birthmark that covers his face.
    Alignment: CN
    Portfolio: Stealth, Knowledge, Freedom.
    Domains: Shadow, Freedom, Silence.
Favored Weapons: Dirks, Kukris, Wristcrossbow, Arcane Magicks.

Wanders the lands some call Boards O'Magick, always helping anyway he can, but more often silent in the shadows. Few of any religion know of him, and fewer worship him.

Dogma: No one is free till death breaks our chains.

    Arabwel (New God)

    Goddess of Annoyance

    Other names: Annoyance Incarnate
Avatar: A tall human female with black hair and black clothes, and glowing green eyes.
Symbol: A black hourglass on a red background, with a black dagger.
    Alingment: NE
Portfolio: Annoyance, Impatience, , Teen Angst, Outcasts, PMS, Skipping School
    Domain: Insanity, Spamming, Shadows, Computers,
    Favoured Weapon: Bitch-slap of Eternity

Arabwel (ARA-bwel), often mispronounced as well, is the Eternal Geeky Goth Chick. She is the dark apparition found from the forgotten corners of computer labs of high schools. She is known for her sense of humor when dealing with the SP Pantheon, which is not, however, mutually exclusive towards her incredible capability of being annoyed. She feels all the angst for all the outcast teens out there...

History/Relationships: Arabwel has no quarrel with anyone in particular, but everyone who manages to annoy her gets an Evil Glare of Farseeing, which happens quite often. So sudden nightmares, odd feelings and "someone just walked over my grave"ings should be accounted to that by all SP memebers. She especially likes Tiamat, Headbanger, Matheias, Slappy, Corr Raven and a few others as well. She is the Queen of Skipping School, and she does so to spend more time in the SP.

Dogma: Idiocy, close-mindedness, racism, and other things like that should never be tolerated. Annoyance is the permanent state of living.

History/relationships: Sides with the idiots in any conflicts.
