[IMG] I just got Soulbringer, this other interplay RPG game, it's similar to Revenant, and I wasn't really good at THAT :D Guess you guys are wonfering why you bought it, well I was looking for PS:T like you guys suggested, but EVERYONE was sold out, so I tried Septerra Core, no luck there either. I ended up buying this game. Is it any good? Any tips/comments/advice would be appreciated, btw I haven't started yet. Gonna finish IWD-HoW under Insane with the way cool Druid this time around. And as for The Threat from the Sea, There was a mallwide sale today, and I nabbed myself a copy of Stormlight and the new Threat from the Sea short story compilation. I notice that the Threat from the Sea series by Mel Odom is the only series buying circulated around here right now, so I just wanted to ask if it was any good, and if I should buy it. ;) Notice I post a lot less now that I seem to be slowly getting a life? :D :p
but seriously any answers on the aforementioned will be appreciated.

About Threat - never heard of it.

    Soulbringer

First, it's Infogrames' game, not BI.

Intro movie is not boring like in other games, watch it now! Too bad it's in low res.

Game start is a bit boring (annoying speech) so skip talks you don't find interesting (Enter or Space, can't remember right).

Combat is real time, but a bit different from other games. You have to click on enemy, then choose magic or weapon to hit him. But there is a thing I never saw anywhere else. Combos. In fact, you can make combination of moves in fight. I.e. stab the bastard in the arm, then hit him with the axe between legs, use a magic ball to finish him and then eat an apple to get some of health back. Sounds silly? When you try it, you'll see how good this is.

All chars look like they are having problems with their back. But moving animations are classy.

Again a cliche about restoring health by eating or drinking (apples, fish, beer...), but that doesn't lower game quality. There are also potions, so...

The game is a bit linear, but that doesn't mean there aren't subquests or that you'll be forced to do everything in some order.

Musical scores are pretty bad at the beginning, but later ones are pieces of treasure.

    Now, some spoils.
Don't waste advancement points in magic skill for few levels at the beginning. You won't be able to use spells for a while. And unlike other RPGs with magic, the best strategy here is to improve combat skill and find better weapon. Spells are not so good as you level up, I mean you won't become powerful mage that is invincible.
Red potions restore or harm health and blue are for magic, I'm writing this because you won't be able to identify much things at the beginning.
Hostiles at the beginning are so damned hard so save often and run away if you can't nail them. DO NOT follow a huge spider - he is impossible to kill at the beginning. Also don't enter a fight with bunch of enemies - try to bait one by one to attack you.
Pretty soon you'll encounter skeletal baron. To get him down you'll have to use Armor spell on yourself.

For other questions, you know where to post them :)

    Kewl. Awright, thanx dude :)
Yeah, I saw the intro movie, it's the only good one I've seen since BG1.
