I am into modding games. I want to use a few of the sound files out of IWD2, specifacilly a few that are located at C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\Icewind Dale II\Sounds\HoW_Male_1 but although they play great in IWD2 they are not playable outside the game. Can someone tell me Y, or more importantly...what can I do about converting them over into NORMAL .wav files or MP3's? Also a related problem I have tried making a few sound files using Sound Recorder on my 4 year old PC running windows 98. They show up as choices in the charecter creation section BUT won't play. Y?

I solved my own problem (yes Bogart & MrBogart are the same person)...after a LENGTHY time on the net searching. I will post the solution here to make it easier on anyone elce who may encounter the same trouble in the future. The default .wav files in IWD2 are actually a rare/unusuall wave file type called WAVC files. They can be converted to regular .wav files with the Infinity Sound Converter. Regular .wav files can be turned into WAVC files with the same program. A hard to find program. It is available at:
    http://www.teambg.com/?page=tools/othertools
IF it becomes UNavailable in the future I may be able to help you. Send a email explaining what you need to Dgrimreaper@aol.com. Label the subject as follows (or elce I may delete the email without opening it.) Etitle it "Need Help W / IWD2 PLZ D.A. Givens" I am D.A. Givens and a subject title like that will get my attention. I often go a long time without checking email however so FIRST try to get it yourself at the web address above.
