I played through the OC and MotB; both had a few bugs but nothing that would cause me to constantly restart. The bugs infact didn't even bother me because I barely noticed them. That is where SoZ is vastly different. The first bug I noticed right away is that my character spell book is completely messed up. It shows level 3 than level 1, followed by level 2 and finally level 0 on the bottom. Normally it goes level 0 to the highest spell level known. This bug not only messes up my spell book but also where those spells are. I had fireballs as zero level spells. Hmmm...

The second bug that really irrates me is my saved game will sometimes be 2-3 saves ago and not the most recent save. The Yuan-ti group i was using was level 6 when I save last. I go to my game last night and the group was at level 5, the prior save. What gives?

The few other bugs I noticed I could care less about but with some of the major bugs popping up, it tends to make the minor bugs that more of a pain. I am seriously thinking about holding off on SoZ until the next patch. It seems like the second or third patch after a game is release from Ob. is fixed so that the major bugs are remvoed and makes the game playable.

When is the next patch suppose to be released?

uhm does bugs sounds like something is wrong with your specific game. I tend to spend a fair amount of time on the official nwn boards, and I can't remember having heard about this bug before. SoZ has it's bugs, but does are more like the bugs you would encounter in MoTb and OC, like scripts and triggers not always firing.
I have done two full run through's of SoZ, both times with multiple casters and never had the bug.
my only advice is sadly, clear your override and reinstall :(
