Spectral Trolls

    How do you kill spectral trolls? I've used flail of ages and maybe flame blade with little success. I also summoned a fire elemental, but I don't think it worked very effectively.

    Do the spectral trolls have a higher HP then regular trolls?

    Where are you? And what weapons do you have? Who is in your party?

    Yeah. Spectral Trolls have better HP, AC and THAC0. Plus, I think enchanted weapons are a must.
    FoA should be good enough as a +3 weapon should have no trouble hitting them. I never had any problems with these guys.

    Minsc weilding Lilarcor is often more than enough for these guys.

    IIRC they drain two points of strength per hit, which can cripple your melee people. I'm not sure how to prevent that. Plus they regenerate HP.

    I can't see why you couldn't just swarm it. Use your summons and slow it with the flail of ages and it should go down.

    Is the Lilacore the talking sword? In my party I have Minsc, Jan, Jaheira, Yoshimo, Viconia, and the assassin I created, whom is proficient with light crossbow. I don't think there are any fire or acid bolts. When you say enchanted do you mean weapons like foa that have bonus damage other then slashing and bludgeoning?

    I'm at the cave in the druid grove.

    Yes, Lilarcor is the talking sword and enchanted weapons are just special weapons like +1 +2 +3 weapons and so on. And those spectral trolls have a pretty good damage resistance iirc so just hack them to bitswith the full party.

    Oh yeah, those guys are souped up. You are probably at the entrance, right.
    Get Jaheira down to low AC with a load of buffs on her and put her at the head of the lot. Give everyone else ranged weapons. It doesn't matter what they are, its just so the Trolls are not targeting anyone other than Jaheira. And dont move too far forward.
    When the Trolls are wailing on Jaheira switch the PC, Minsc and Yoshi to melee. Have Viccy and Jan summon. Make sure everyone targets the same beast. So long as you can make Jaheira last out the fight, rinse and repeat for the entire grove.

    Just be careful, in the tactics mode they cast unholy blight and unholy word... Otherwise they're not too much of a problem.
