[IMG] How is the speed at which you cast spells increased??

I see some enemies cast off 3 spells in the time it takes mine to so one, and that's on a good day.

Is it something to do with your inteligence or level or just that the rules say all enemies are better at spell casting than me.

Example, if you even think about attacking gorion in Candlekeep, he's whipped out a lightning bolt before you even get near him.

On cutscenes spells are activated whenever (or at least the effects)

Enemy mages might have spell triggers, or scripts letting them do so, And spells have speed times - it might just be the spell you cast takes longer,

Like magic missile takes longer than bless and stuff like that

    Maybe it's just unfair.
Another unfair thing about mages: if my thief/mage is invisible (hide in shadows, potion, spell) and meets some opponents, tries to cast a spell: she becomes visible while waving with her hands, opponents run near her and therefore she can't cast fireball or other spells that need distance.
She is soloing, so she has to run away a lot.
If she uses a wand it's no problem. If she shoots an arrow, it's no problem, she'll become visible while shooting or while using the wand.
Therefore she gives all her money on wands and nasty arrows and a poisoned knife (backstabbing).

[IMG] Its just a pain when you are casting a long spell and you always get cut-off before you finish coz someone lays down a spell of ass-kicking.

My mage/thief isn't what she meant to be. I like her to cast attack spells, but most of them aren't useful any more. She's more a thief, and casting protective spells.
Backstabbing with that poison dagger (Beregost) is very effective. :D

Ablate, try some touch-spells, when you backstabbed someone, you are in touch range so maby this will damage them. And magic missiles are cast very fast and hard to break the spell too... and of course the protective spells rule.
