Spellhold lost character-

    Does anyone know how to solve this problem- I finally got to Imoen in Spellhold, added her to my party and told Jan to wait for me- but you can't do that because after the battle with Irenicus you can't get back to that initial area where you got Imoen- or can you? My party gets teleported out; I can go back in but can't get to the room where I left Jan- any ideas?

    I'm not sure I understand. If you want Imoen, someone in your group has to go. If you don't want to lose anyone in your group, don't let Imoen join you. I suppose you could CLUA your way through this problem--not sure if teleporting yourself will work though.

    If you leave anyone in spellhold, you cant get him/her back. The best chance is with Imoen where, when you find her you can tell her to back to Athkatla.
    I dont think the others even get the dialogue option to await you in the Copper Coronet.

    So ... No.
    You cant get Jan back.

    If you look through a walkthrough and see what the area number is, you could teleport back to the room where you left Jan and pick him up. Though at this point you'd have to drop someone else and leave him/her there...

    I think there are other characters that go to the Copper Coronet if you tell them to leave. I'm sure Minsc does.

    Minsc does NOT go to the Copper Coronet if you tell him to wait in Chapter 4 or 5.

    Neither does almost any other NPC. They only get the option to "wait for you here" (in other words, you're losing the character if you want to take Imoen into Chapter 4 and 5).

    The only exceptions I've seen is I've seen Keldorn and Mazzy leave, but only if you do not complete their personal quests, in which case they leave the party without giving you the option of asking them to hang around.

    It is a spoiler, but you best bet (if you want Imoen going along with you) is to leave Athkatla with 5 party members, or better yet, take Yoshimo to the island with you (as Morsmordre notes above).

    I believe from a walkthrough I read, Jaheira can also be left and picked up elsewhere later. (No idea where though I'm afraid)

    If you have a save from before going into spellhold, Jan (or any other NPC) will go "home" (most go to the Copper Coronet) if you are intent on picking up Imoen.
