Well I'm off to spellhold for the first time...anything in particular I should bring with me? I have a whole stash of spells, potions, weapons etc. stashed in the store in the promenade. What spells will Iomen need to learn? Any advice pertaining to items etc., be it general or specific, will be appreciated.

Just be sure you take what you want with you... You won't be back for a while.

If you have the space for them, take any mage scroll you have, especially the ones you find useful up to this point. That way, Imoen can scribe them on the spot and use them on the first occasion. Higher-level scrolls are also good, because it might be a while before you get to a merchant that sells scrolls, and you don't want to rely on random drops.

I don't think there's any item that you need to have. The weapons you're using now should be enough. Take one good bow for Imoen to use.

Hehe I have almost every scroll I've found in the game so far stashed in the bookshelves because I don't sell them and I have a Sorc, so I have LOTS of scrolls. It would probably take quite a few scroll cases to take 'em all. I also have every potion I've ever found...I've only tried using healing potions so far...I am a real pack rat.

What stuff is good for Iomen to wear? (armor, hat etc.)

Heh, unless you solo, your party can bring all of them to Spellhold, you won't have much trouble stashing them later.

Btw, bring the shield of Balduran. What ? Did I spoil anything ? :D

Edit : Use Imoen as a mage, bring a robe of good archmage or robe of vecna, maybe the brace of AC 3. She's also good at bow, her lockpick skill sometimes not enough, so bring the ring of lockpick or some potion of master thievery

Minh So said it all. There'll be lots of arrows in Spellhold, but anyway, take Tasheron bow from Trademeet. The best weapon for her until you aquire Gesen. A belt of Inertial Barrier would help, too, otherwise every Horrid Wilting would kill her.

No armor for Imoen; a good robe, bracers and mage armor is quite enough.
The regenerating Ioun Stone is good for her.
Get all the offensive spell scrolls, buffs and debuffers can wait. If she needn't learn them she can hurt others.
Get a few strength, extra healing, AC and save improving potions; leave others behind.

Did you keep the stuff at Adventurer's Mart? I think you should move whatever you dont sell out of there. PRONTO!!

In my game Imoen did just fine with some elven chain we found in Trademeet after those two families killed each other.

Dang I guess I gotta sell a lotta stuff 'cuz it's too much to move it all. I guess if I leave my stuff in the Adventurers Mart I'll lose it. That would REALLY stink. Where is a good place to stash? Copper Coronet? I have all my arrows/missiles outside the Coronet on the tables there for easy access. I may CLUA a bag of holding to move it then lose the bag...is that cheating?

Leave your stuff in the Adventure Mart.
    It will be fine.

Just take as many spells as you can for Imoen if you plan to keep her. She'll need a good bow and staff too. Along with a robe/elven armor. I think you can get 6 scroll cases from the various stores.

I don't consider having a bag of holding to be cheating. It's not like the game lets you carry that many items, so take the bag.

@Aces- where is the Elven chain? I don't recall anyone selling it. Is it true an elven or halfelven mage can wear it and still cast spells?

I leave the stuff which I don't use(old keys, journals and some weapons)in the room behind the bar in Copper Coronet.Put them in the sack.It is a good place to stock things.

If you CLUA in BAG04, remember that you will legitimately find it later on. What happens then will be really annoying. I know there is a mod somewhere that allows you a bag-of-holding in Atkathla, cant remember where :hmm:

That Elven chain was probably a random drop. Aces got lucky.
@ Aces, that was evil man. Letting them kill each other.

I always sell just about everything without a name before I leave for Spellhold. I love the CC for stashing stuff. There are 4 safes in there:
the table at the south entrance (weapons and armor),
the chest besides Anomen (scrolls and wands),
the table beside Minsc (missiles and potions) and
the round table near the north exit (gems and quest stuff).

The elven chain in Trademeet is not a random drop.
    ***Spoiler Below***

It is worn by a member of one of the families that try to hire you. Depending on what action you take, the situation might come to blows. IF the person wearing the chain is killed, you can loot the armor.

    Re: Ravynn

Elven chain can be worn by any multi or dual classed mage and you can still cast spells, as well as a bard.

Single classed mages can not wear it.

    @Ravynn
    Spoil:

You get a bag of holding in SpellHold!

Just bring tons of spell scrolls for her. ;)

    @Shrikant
My Paladin just played stupid for that one instant.

Just make sure the final battle takes place in the woman's house so her guards help her and not the other way around. You can also help by casting haste on her and spell turning. That sort of insures you will get the chain.
    :D
