I started a project yesterday. I've wanted one of these kind of shirts for a while so I thought I would design one. I put the progression of my work throughout the day yesterday and today in my photos.

It is a shirt cut out of an old T in the design of a spiderweb. It is meant to be worn on top of another shirt - preferably black or some darker colour. I'm near completion of the template and then I will have to figure out some means to transfer the template design onto the shirt and make sure the cuts are secure enough that they won't break when the shirt is worn.

Hm. I'm not sure how well this is going to work. Doesn't T-shirt material tend to curl on on the edges of cuts? Or maybe that's the effect you're going for? Not sure.

My first thought was that you'd want some kind of iron-on backing and instead of wearing it over another shirt, you'd bond it to anther shirt. Not sure how good that would be either though :)

Can't wait to see how it turns out! :)

@ BT - Those are good points you make. I'm going to grab some old tshirt material first and just try a selection of the template to see how the fabric will be affected by the cuts. I do have some thin iron-on backing material if I need to use it ... I just have to try and find it. :p
