I just thought of this new poll and decided to post it.

Actually it mostly has to do with the second-questioning I've been giving myself on a certain matter that I might not discuss

The point is, I am occasionally spontaneous. It keeps my life interesting I guess but I sometimes regret the things I do. How spontaneous are you guys?

 

I'm not very spontaneous, generally, but can be if encouraged. That is, if left to my own devices, I tend to plan everything out and sort of follow the plan (and if I'm not following the plan, I'm giving in to habit, which is also not really "spontaneous"). But if someone else enters the picture, and they have something fun to do, I'll usually go along, unless I'm really crazily swamped.

My lesson plans and novels go the same way: I plan them out in the beginning, to a certain level of detail (not as detailed as some, but not as loose as others), but when I'm actually teaching/writing, if something "better" comes up, I go with it.

Overall, this mix seems to work well for me, but sometimes, I feel too constrained by my plans or don't notice the "something better." I guess that means I wish I was more spontaneous.

 

Spontaneity is the devil. I need at least a week's advance warning for any activity.

 

I like a bit of spontaneity. It helps keep life fresh, and it's often the spontaneous things in life I enjoy the most.

 

I love being spontaneous, as long as I have enough lead time.

 

I'm probably not very spontaneous, but I also don't agonize over things. Easy come, easy go.

I always thought most writers scrapped their diagrams after about page 1 and just jumped in.

 

This is so funny - last night I was in the process of making a poll. I ended up doing something else while in the middle of it so I just exited out of it and forgot about it until now. Sorry I never did add the poll but at least it makes for interesting conversation.

 

I find that I have become quite spontaneous these past few months. In fact, some of my friends think I'm becoming spontaneous to a fault.

I LOVE PEOPLE. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. They're so much fun to manipulate and it's too easy to throw them off. I cannot help but liven up the days of the NPCs (or moguls if you will) by being as random and weird as possible.

 

I've learned to be spontaneous, but that's largely to do with someone I met a while back and his influence on me lol

As for me, I'm quite an over-thinker, I *think*. That doesn't work well with spontaneity. Since I don't like spontaneous visitor (I live in the Temple of Sloth and am ashamed to show that to people), I don't do spontaneous visits myself.

Every now and then I do something spontaneous. Like yesterday, I ended up playing billiards with a mentally challenged (what is the PC term?) old man in a wheelchair whom I never had met before.

Spontaneity for me is not: "I spontaneously buy a ticket and leave for Istria in 2 months" but, "I buy a ticket for a museum/concert/zoo and enter right now".

I'm spontaneous sometimes. In fact I have a bad habit of not planning enough for important meetings and interviews although I'm pretty good at thinking fast on my feet in those situations. Of course there is always the - "I should have said/done that" aspect that sometimes comes afterwards. But for the most part spontaneity keeps my life fresh.

 

Spontaneity is not my problem I rarely think "I should have said/done that" and more often think "I said that out loud?"

 

I am impulsive yet thorough. Once I have a desire to do something I pave the way for it to become reality, the success of such action often takes more time than desired, but considering the time and 'spoons' I have to put towards separate endeavours I am pleased enough with my progress. I do not have the luxury of true spontaneity.
