[IMG] Are there any? I've seen a few that have really cool boxes, but I've never heard anything good about the games themselves. Any opinions, recommendations, recriminations, condemnations?

I was thinking about getting Star Fleet battles or that away team game - Heard anything?

Well, I never bought any Star Trek game, most have pretty high system requirements.

Star Trek Away Team looks like a good game, some sort of Commandos, but then in Star Trek style.

I did bought the Star Trek Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, it is quite usefull, but if you need to look up something quickly you might just as well grab you encyclopdia in book-form.

Eh, its Star Trek. Could it really be all that interesting as a game? :)

The only one worth buying (of the number I played) is Elite Force. I can guarantee you'll have fun with it. It's a FPS with some dazzlingly beautiful 3D backgrounds, animation, etc. When I first entered the living alien ship I was just sitting there, staring blank at the screen because it was such an amazingly beautiful sight... And got killed 30 seconds later for not paying attention. :D

And that was back on my old voodoo2. It must look even prettier on something newer like GeForce, which I have now. But it's been a while since I completed the game, and I've been to busy with other stuff to install it again. Hmm, now that you've reminded me...

(Oh yeah, Elite Force is about Voyager, just in case you don't know.)

I've got Star Trek New Worlds here (came with my graphics card). It's a 3D RTS game (kind of like Battlezone (if you have played it), only you are not a part of your own forces. I've played it for 5 minutes, and really don't have much opinions about it. It's released by Interplay though ;).

  8. There has only been one good ST game if you ask me, and that was Start Trek Judgement rights. Based on the original series, it was back in the good ol' days of VGA

Personally I've never seen a st game worth playing... however if your really really really patient and can get a game of st:birth of the federation into the late game it can be kinda interesting, but damn it is boring as hell in the meantime.

[IMG] I enjoyed Birth of the Federation, but then I've always liked strategy games, especially those in the Civ mold. I heard alot of bad things about Elite Force though, so have never played that. I do however like the look of away team and who knows, i might even get round to giving it a shot one day:).

I Have Star Fleet Command, and Star Fleet Command II "empires at War". They are Ship vs Ship combat sims. Very cool and interesting. You start out as a Lt. Commander in charge of a Frigate, and can eventually work your way up through the ranks. You can play several different alien races with different ships (I've only played as Fed.) The combat and graphics are pretty neat, and I've played some cool missions. This is a pure combat game, and If you are a star trek fan I think you will enjoy commanding your own star ship. There are some wierd bugs in SFCII, but hopefully they have a patch out now. I haven't played it since it first came out.....and I played it until I finished it.
