Start from BG1

    I have just dug out all my old games from the back of the cupboard. I just started BG2 cause it's so cool. Should I start BG1 and import or just keep playing BG2. Any opinions?

    Start BG1 and go all the way through (if you use Tutu you can play BG1 using the BG2 engine - meaning new kits, new spells, and some other neat features).

    There's something special about going all the way through the game... go for it :thumb: !

    Thanx for the advise. What is TUTU. I don't usually use MOds. I did just notice that some woman upstairs in the adventurers mart sells stuff from PST. Can't believe I never noticed that from the first time I completed the game. Was kicking myself. Also how do you import from BG1 to BG2. Never tried it before.

    Tutu lets you play BG1 using the BG2 engine (follow the link - the word "Tutu" *is* the link - for more info).

    Iirc there's a button in the character generation screen named import.. Press that one and follow instructions to reach you final BG1 save game (if you use tut things are done diferently concerning imports, afair).

    To export your character from BG1 just press the export button in the record page of your character.
    To import a character into BG2 just start the character generation and press the IMPORT button on the bottom left of the screen.

    Don't kick yourself about the merchant you "missed" earlier. She was a bonus merchant that wasn't present in the original game, but got added for everybody in one of the later patches.

    There are two bonus merchants, and the patch only adds one. You can download a small file from SP that will add both.
