I'm requesting this forum's thoughts on what the best online music swapping/stealing services are. Please no arguments about why you should or should not do it; limit yourself to how well the different programs work in your experience.

I used Napster to start off prior to its demise. Tried Bearshare and find it awful. Where next? Gnutella, Morpheus...? What should I use. TIA

[IMG] Some friends of mine have been talking about a place called kaaza or something like that. I've heard a lot about Morpheus too. Not really into it myself just passing along the info :p

I am using Morpheus and WinMX. Both are easy to use and you will find almost all you search for.
WinMX is only for music search, M you can also use for movies and pics.
M is a little bit faster in searching and building up connections but sometimes overcrowded, that is the time i switch to WinMX.

With WinMX you mainly find files on the MusicCity network, which is the one Morpheus is using.

I use Morpheus, but I don't like it. You can only find maximum 128kb quality mp3s there, but there are about 60k users online all the time so you always find something.

My sister is always downloading something from AudioGalaxy, so I suppose it must be good. I haven't used anything since Napster died.

True Kevlar. I don't look at how a program looks etc. I look at what you can find, and with Kazaa I can find almost anything, from music to movies. And I listen to music that many have never heard of and that is very hard to buy in shops.. but on Kazaa you can just almost always find it.

    Wow.
Mom, look at all the pirates. ;)

Use Morpheus or KaZaA. They rock.
Bearshare is a gnutella servent, which means you'll find nothing with any other gnutella servents you wouldn't also find with bearshare.

Kevlar0101: KaZaA and Morpheus are essentially the same programs. They are both using KaZaALib and use the same network for file sharing, so how is it possible that one of them find more than the other? I think you are mistaken...
