Strange Problem with Jaheira's Harper Quest

    Alright, this is really, really, pissing me off.

    I'm playing the game straight on without any guides at all. I get to the part where I kill Galvarey, and then following that, I had enough money to progress to chapter 2 -

    Following the whole slew of playing time, I find myself facing the bright light of day after spending all that time in the underdark.

    After the initial investigation, some Harpers pop up, face me, and start aggroing on me.

    Following which, the entire elven contigent decide to beat the **** out of me, assisting the harpers.

    Then I lose, naturally.

    Now, what the hell?

    I read a guide, and it mentioned that that Harper quest where someone goes Aggro on Jaheira is like, fine, but, ****ing hell. Does it have to happen at a place which contains guys PIVOTAL to the DAMN STORYLINE?

    I'm surpised the elves turn against you as well. Are you sure that, in the course of fighting the Harpers, you didn't accidentally damage one of the elves (maybe with a spell)?

    The other possibility is that, because the elves don't trust you yet, they decide to side with the Harpers, in which case I'm not sure how to help you.

    I haven't started casting any spells when the elves all go aggro on me. The worst part is that the GM (Which is that robed guy that kills you immediately should you destroy/remove anything that impedes the storyline) pops up at that time and kills the game.

    According to the guide that person turns up 4 days after you kill Galvarey, at anywhere on the mainland. I guess it's bugged and it decided to pop up right when I arrive on the mainland.

    The fix specifically addresses this problem. However, keep in mind that this patch is designed as a preventative solution. It won't be able to fix the problem after it has already occurred. In order to make it work for you in your present game, you may have to go back to a saved game before you left the Underdark.

    I had the problem of those elves turning on me in other circonstances. I just fought some drows in the night, I'm sure I didn't hurt any good elves, but they did as if the drows were in my gang. I tried and reload and found that it happens 2/3 of the times.

    Also, when you get out of the underdark, the game triggers all events delayed, such as stronghold quests, romances, harper quest, Edwina, you name it. Sometimes it messes up your dialogue with the elven lord.
