Does anyone know what is the stronghold quest for a Fighter/Mage (elven)?

Brus Sent me to Madeen, but he's sent me in the wrong direction in the past...

It depends on what quest you do first. But I think that you can have both if you get the fighter stronghold first...

If you only want the mage stronghold, Madeen is your man (Planar Sphere). Otherwise go see Nalia.

EDIT: CamDawg writes that it's the other way around: Planar Sphere before D'Arnise Keep. I really can't remember and since he's usually right, just ignore what I've written above...

You can get either the Planar Sphere or the de'Arnise Keep, depending on which one you complete and accept first. There is a missing stronghold check in Nalia's script, so it is possible to get both if you complete the Sphere first.

Brus and Gaelan have slightly different dialogue checks to see where to send you. I always chuckle when Gaelan tells me to talk to Renal and Brus wants me to talk to Nalia when I'm playing a F/T.

    edit: Victor types faster :)

Since we are discussing strongholds , what's the stronghold for a cleric?

I'm currently playing a dualclassed fighter/cleric. As a multiclassed character I've heard you can have 2(or3) strongholds? Is that true?

You can have multi-strongholds if you download the ease-of-use mod.

Single, dual, and multi-class characters are only supposed to get one stronghold sans ease-of-use. However, there are missing checks in some of Nalia's dialogue so it is possible to get the Keep after you already have a stronghold. Clerics can get one of the temples for a stronghold depending on alignment--Lathander (good), Helm (neutral) or Talos (evil).

    CamDawg:

Are you saying that a DUAL-Classed Fighter (9, for arguments sake)/ Cleric can get two strongholds (with no mods installed)? How would you go about timing these strongholds? Would you need to wait on Nalia's Keep until your Fighter levels are reactivated?

Not sure to be honest. I rarely if ever play a dual-classed character and I usually install the multi-stronghold patch. As for the Nalia bug, you need to have a stronghold already and I think she needs to be out of the party when you complete the Keep. Rather than trying to find and exploit the bug, if you want both it would probably be easier to download ease-of-use and decline the strongholds you don't want.

With the fighter and other stronghold, I find the easiest way as follows.....

Complete fighter quest, tell Nalia you aren't ready to accept the stronghold yet, go and complete the other quest, accept the other stronghold and come back and finally accept the fighter stronghold.

Same thing applies to dual-classed as to multi-classed, you will be offered both, but you get to decide which one to take. The only difference, IIRC, is if your first class is still inactive, you may not get offered the stronghold for that class.

EDIT: Instead of "inactive/active" I should have said "locked/unlocked" -- if you have dual-classed, your first class will always be inactive, it's just unlocked when you reach a higher level in the new one. :p

So are there multiple ways to initiate the stronghold quest? As an evil mage, I delivered Valygar (Bwahahaha!) and the sphere still opens... will clearing the sphere become the stronghold quest in this scenerio?

If I was good, and helped Valygar defeat Lavok, would that mean a stronghold?

    @ Ishmael:
You can help Valygar defeat Lavok, but it doesn't mean you automatically get stronghold. When you get the sphere to return to your plane, Lavok offers you a stronghold (if he thinks you're worthy).

Btw, you can't get thief and mage strongholds both, even if you lose your thief guild before going into the planar sphere.

I have a thief dualled to a fighter.
How can I go about getting both the strongholds?

At present my thief levels are inactive. Will they have to be active at the time of reporting to the guild for me to get the strong hold?

If I finish the thief quests and then go to Nalia can I still get the fort?

    Help me out guys, thanks.

Nope.. You can get just one Stronghold without any mods. You can still do all the quests related to them, you just don't get the offer for the stronghold.

EDIT: Whoops.. Like someone before me said Nalia's keep doesn't have that stronghold flag, so I think it should be done first and after that the other. I don't think any other stronghold quest has the same error, so the fighter stronghold it the only one you can get with other class' stronghold.

And you do have to have an active class to get the offer for the stronghold.
