I want to sleep tonight. Has anyone got a good remedy for a stuffy nose? I'm a little more interested in natural remedys but go ahead and tell me about your favorite cough syrop if you like.-

 

Eat lots of garlic. That's my fail-safe cure for just about everything. Unfortunately, it won't give the instant results you're looking for.

Then, if someone inhales your breath, your charisma will drop by 5, at least

 

Ny-Quil rules. It definitely will put you to sleep if nothing else.

Ok, heres something alot of people use to clear your syneses(sp?), it works for stuffy noses aswell, boil some water, put it in a big bowl, get a towel and cover top of bowl with it, then lift up one end of towel and place your head in between towel and hot water, if desirable put something minty in the water to help the clearing proccess.

This works, belive me.

 

Olbas Oil. Works every time

 

Dalveen, you need a dab of Vic in thereas well.

 

Get a teaspoon, put a little bit of normal chili powder on the end of the spoon, just a little bit, then carefully place the spoon in your mouth and empty it onto the back of your throat.

 

Eat some hot mustard. Have you cleared out right quick!

 

The last two posts reminded me of a guy I saw on Leno a few weeks ago - he drank a whole bottle of tabasco sauce in about 30 seconds.

Anyway, this doesn't help clear up a stuffy nose, but whenever I feel a cold coming on, I always take echinacea/golden seal - doesn't prevent the cold, but it seems to keep it from getting really bad and speeds up the recovery process.

 

Morningstar, you dont need the vic's but u can add it if you want instead of the mint, the steam is the part that helps the most

 

Wasabi.

Try saline rinses or nasal spray to loosen up all the gunk and get it to drain.

 

Ah well now I suppose you could put a million and one things up your nose and I bet it won’t do much, the best thing for any kind of thing like this is a good nights sleep. Or you could try morning stars wirebrush and dettol method

 

The best remedies I've found are anything that has that bit of a kick like wasabi, tabasco, horseradish (or other hot-style mustards) or chilli flakes. Clears you out right quick. Though it can also have the effect of waking you up a bit too.

 

Thanks for all the remedys everyone. I probably won't be using Morningstars one though. The steam and vicks worked pretty well last night and drinking a gallon of water really helped today. (I'm only exagerating a bit with the gallon part)I may try the wasabi tomorrow but that will only be an excuse to eat some deliscious sushi.

 

whatever you do don't drink milk, it just increases the production of "annoying goo" in the nose.
