Stupid people...

If you haven't noticed, I use blogs to rant. :D

So here we go, after dealing with stupid people all day yesterday, I need to get some things off my chest. Both my wife and I are very punctual people, and we expect a certain level of punctuality in return...so I really pisses us off when people blow us off. That said, forgive the frequent usage of ****...

First off, you may or may not recall that the wife was offered a role in a local movie that pays $16,000. The problem is, before they can start shooting, they wanted a preliminary photo shoot to see what the wife looks like without any Photoshoping. Well, the producer and the photographer she's been in contact with are f***ing morons! She has scheduled the shoot 4 previous times, and all 4 times they canceled within 30 minutes or less of the pre-defined time.

So yesterday, everything was all set; we were going to meet at his studio at 5:30pm. So we start driving down to the city where he said his studio was, 30 miles one way btw, and about half-way, the photographer sends us a txt with the address and claims that we had specified 6:45pm. That was annoying, but we were far enough that I wasn't going to turn around and go home. So I punch the address in to my GPS, and came up with nothing. Luckily, most of Utah is set up on a massive grid, so finding an address is a piece of cake. So I drive to the general location of where the address should have been...and I found out why my GPS couldn't find the address: it doesn't F***ing exist! I was on the right road, but before we could find the correct east coordinate, the road dead-ends in to a F***ing mountain!!! :bang:

So we call the photographer to confirm the address, and he asks why we need the address in the first place. At the top my lungs, I scream, "To get to the f***ing shoot you stupid piece of s***!!!" Unfortunately, the wife saw that outburst coming and ended the call before I could let him know how stupid he is.

Anyway, he sends us another txt with a different address. This time it says "Center St." which runs east to west...so I immediately know he messed up when I saw that the address has a south intersect. So I call him back and in very small words, I explain that a street that runs east to west *cannot* have a “south” intersect...it can only have “east” and “west” intersects, for example: 300 East Center St is perfectly valid….bus since Center St. is technically 0 North/0 South, there can’t be a ### South Center St.

In the end, we finally get there...and I am forced to sit in the car for an hour. I guess he picked up on the vibe that I wanted to murder him and he didn’t want me in the studio. :bad:

As for the actual producer, we haven't met her, nor talked to her on the phone. She will email us asking if we can do a shoot on days we specifically made clear were unavailable for shoots. :flaming: We send her emails all the time, but not one of them has been replied to. No one will give us her phone number either, so we can't get a straight answer out of her...plus, I'd like to tell her she's a stupid f***ing idiot, which always sounds more meaningful over the phone.

Once the shoot was over, I had to deal with a bigger problem...Utah County drivers. You see, to the south of Salt Lake County, likes the s*** hole known as Utah County which is home to BYU (the biggest Mormon owned university), the Mormon Missionary Training center, and a diverse population made up of Mormons, idiotic college students, rednecks, hicks, and tens of thousands of people who shouldn't be allowed to drive. I'm not usually an angry person, but driving through that place makes me wish I was driving a tank so I could just run people over or blast them to hell with a 120mm cannon.

Utah is one of many states that has a "move over" law, which is primarily meant to keep emergency vehicles that are stopped on the side of the road safe...but Utah's law also says that if you're in the "fast lane" of a multi-lane highway (the left most lane), and traffic to your right is moving faster than you, regardless of the posted speed limit, your a** better merge to the right so you're not impeding traffic. Well, people in Utah County wouldn't care if they were holding up the president...they drive 2-3 miles under the speed limit and stay in any lane of their choice until they decide to get off the highway.

I'm so pissed that I can't sleep...so once the sun comes back up, I'm going to the shooting range to show a life-sized picture of Bin Laden how mad I really am.

Relax, take a deep breath... then SHOOT LIKE CRAZY! :D But seriously, I guess that's why they pay well - they know you'll just have to put up with a lot if you want to get it.

My advice to you is to get the $16,000 up front. Although, that could be a nice rant to read about later.

I can't help but think they're jerking you around on purpose just to see how much you want it.

BTA, we feel the same way. We both want to tell them to take a hike....but $16,000 would help out a lot.

For some reason I always forget SP has blogs. :-/

Anyway, as an update, after all the hoops we had to jump though, they shut down production and put the movie on hold indefinitely....so needless to say, we didn't get s*** out of this major waste of time. -_-

I'm hoping for better blog integration in the future, yea, it's lacking right now.

Sucks to hear that it didn't work out for you. :bad:
