This is for those of your well acquanted with this series, as you probably know already...

I am going to only write about Episode IV: A New Hope right now, and here are a few I single-handedly found after watching it about a billion times:

    1) When Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewbacca are shooting at the stormtroopers near the hole that Leia is about to create (that will lead them into the garbage area), Leia's hair is falling slightly on her face one scene, and immediately, in the next, it is gone. This was stupid and trivial; trust me, don't waste your time looking for it. I wouldn't waste my time looking at Leia in New Hope too long for that matter, unless you're talking about Return of the Jedi :) ...

    2) When See-Threepio and Artoo-Detoo are in the room after Han, Luke, and Chewbacca have left to go in search of Leia in the Death Star, a squadron of stormtroopers enters, and one of them clumsily bangs his head near the ceiling. There's even a loud crash at that moment. He probably was Jarjar Binks hiding in a stormie outfit.

    3) THE STUPIDEST THING: When Ben turns off the tractor beam, the words "tractor beam" below the switch are written in ENGLISH, not BASIC!!! How did Obi-Wan know how to read English? How could anyone make such a dumb mistake? They didn't have moderators who checked the movie like those of this message board.

If you have more errors in any of the five Star Wars movies, feel free to post. I want to know all of them and show off my geeky SW knowledge :book: .

    [EDIT: :tie: :tie: :tie: !!!!!]

The best ever is the stormtrooper hitting his head. Most people on their first viewing don't even notice it.

I think the most visible mistake is the Han Solo "ghost" reflection that appears on the screen when he is running from the shield generator bunker on Endor as it blows.

Farthy, how do you know that basic doesn't look like our English? It sure sounds like our English. Don't confuse Imperial Code, Huttese, or any other alien writing for basic.

Morgoth, I'm not sure what you're complaining about here. Obi-Wan's hands were bound by the cable. Remember when he reaches for his saber, Jango shoots his cable and effectively ties his hands. Jango takes off and Obi-Wan goes sliding. The first thing Obi-Wan does is get behind a pillar, so that the cable wraps around it and sends Jango flying and effectively taking out his backpack. Jango then takes a shot at Obi-Wan who blocks it and kicks Jango sending him flying. Then comes the "Uh uh! Not good." part when Jango slides off the edge and Obi-Wan follows because he's still tied up. Obi-Wan slides all the way down and is hanging. This gives him time to prepare. Jango cuts the cable, but Obi-Wan has calmed himself and is able to manipulate the cable and swing onto a platform for safety. It works. The fight is choreographed well and looks awesome.

OK, the one big mistake that sticks out the most is toward the end of movie Iv after Luke comes back from destroying the Death Star. He lands his X-Wing and when Leia is approaching him he calls "Kary" instead of "Leia." My best friend who is a Star Wars fanatic pointed this one out to me and I didn't quite believe it until I actually saw it.

Atreides, yeah that one is interesting. But seriously, there's so much sound go on in that scene you can't truly hear if he say's Carrie or Leah. You can convince your brain either way to hear what you want to hear.

Mark Hamill denies it to this day though. Who knows. ;)

Basic is the common language for the SW universe.

Or how about when Han gropes Leia on Endor after she had been shot? Seriously, watch really carefully...

Or Han's amazing color changing uniforms? Between Bespin, the Hutt Palace, and the Sarlaac Pit - his uniforms change color, style, and grime quite often.

[IMG] I still don't get why they didn't put metal grids up in the reactor core corridors on the second death star. I mean The first one blew up, and they still didn't learn about x-wings. Its not like a death star is built over night. It takes much work and much planning, and they still didn't consider a small fighter attack. Again...
Give me a break MORONIC LUCAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crips I hate that ending. How can a fantastic adventurous saga have such lame ending. :flaming: :flaming:

I'll give Lucas an A++ on imagination and F on common sense. :bang: :toofar:

I will settle with imagining my own ending instead of that whole Endor part. Oh well 5 1/2 hours of exceptionally good entertainment plus many hours of dreaming. one 1/2 hour of mental torture. I guess I can learn to live with that. *sigh*

i prefer to remember the second-to-last scene in each film as being (what should've been) the last scene!

e.g. luke without a hand at the end of empire (instead of getting a new one and then gazing hopefully out of the window) and palpatine on the balcony overlooking the new stormtrooper clone army :imperialmarch: (not the wedding of anakin and padme)...

Um, i know this sounds alittle well ... me i suppose, but in Return of the Jedi, when Leia gets shot in the arm and she collapses on the floor, look at where Han's hands go when he bends down to get to her ... I'd say one of his limbs has a little er ... contact with Leia's chest? :)

I don't know if this is true but i've read this on a various sites. Hopefully you SW fanatics will know if they're true or not.

Ok firstly there were meant to be 9 films? but when he started on RotJ he realised he could finish it neater there?

Also in the first 2 (SW:NH and ESB) theres apparently either the co-director or producer (i cant remember which) disagreed with many of lucas's points (which is why he wasnt in the 3rd film lol) and that it was actually this co-director/producer (or whatever his actualy title was) that gave the darker side of the SW universe. Apparently this guys ideas for RotJ were meant also more for the 9 film series - Han is killed and Leia becomes the leader of Rebellion and goes out for vengeance, also NO EWOKS!!! (i hate those bloody teddy bears :grr:  )

Think about it, in NH and ESB it's a lot darker atmosphere and it seems a lot more dangerous, then you get to RotJ and you have the EWOKS!! argh!! and a lot more stuff that is really bad common sense ideas (as nobleman mentioned with the grills). Other common sense errors are - the shield generator reactor thingy (the thing on endor) is guarded by 1 legion and yet if a legion is anywhere near the number of it's real world counterparts then there are way too fer stormtroopers in that battle. Also why only 1 legion?? put a million squillion stormtroopers with AA turrets (against an attempted bombing run?) and put in automatic gun turrets to kill the Ewoks and any other enemy for that matter. Also they should burn the entire forest of endor to the ground - thus eliminating any stealthy attack. On this fire note why exactly when the reactor blows up does not a single forest fire start??? Also none of the stormtroopers use their blasters on the ewoks?? (they just wait and have rocks thrown on them)

Argh the ending of RotJ was soooo non-sensical.

*wipes Lazy Bonzo's head with a cool, damp cloth*

See what you guys did to him! You made him think too much! :D He's now over heated! ;)

Anyway, Lazy Bonzo, I ask similar questions in other movies (not so much Return of the Jedi because i loved it) and people keep on telling me to stop being so analytical (sp) and that its just a film ment for enjoyment and isn't some shakespeare playright where everything is analyzed and carries across some message or another. And as a fellow SP member thing, I am passing on my friends advice, from them to me, and now onto you ...

    Its just a film :)

Metal Grids? :p Do you think metal grids would have stopped the Rebels? They would pack extra proton torps or go kamikaze, whatever it would take to get to that reactor core. At least the Rebels had to fly inside a tight tunnel to get to the reactor that time.

As for covering Endor with stromtroopers? What? No way would Palpatine be afraid of a few teddy bears. As Luke says, his over confidence is his weakness. The idea of Ewoks beating the troopers might be a stretch, but you've got natural life-forms who are more closer to the Force versus clones who have been genetically tampered with. It's nature triumphing over science. The little guys triumphing over the big guys.

Now as to why the forest didn't catch on fire, that's a good one. What you didn't see Smokey the Bear in the background putting it out?

Han does have some clothes issues in his carbonite ordeal. I'm hoping the DVD version of SW will come with the original, as well as a tocuhed up version. I would like to see this touched up.

Han's roaming hands. Nah, leave that one alone. It's like the trooper bumping his helmet, it's too funny.

The guy you are referring to Lazy Bonzo is Gary Kurtz who was the Producer for Star Wars in ANH and ESB. After ESB he had a falling out with Lucas and went with Jim Henson to work on the Dark Crystal. He may not have agreed with the direction Lucas was taking the SW films, but it really ultimately wasn't up to him. He was the producer. The producer is in charge of coordinating the whole movie making process and taking care of the financial business. Telling the creator of a saga how his story should go was low on his list of priorities, or at least should have been. When it didn't turn out that way, he moved on. Just take anything Kurtz says with a grain of salt.
    ;)

BigB i thought you were right but then i found this article. It's not the one where which i found some time ago - the one that mentioned not Gary Kurtz but Irvin Kershner.
