Stupid Vampires!

    [​IMG] these anoying level drainers
    keep on killing me
    and killing me
    and i have gotten fed up with it.
    That includes the adamantal Golem
    and the Lich and everything.Where are some good protection spells at and how can i kill a adamantal golem

    To protect yourself against the level draining powers of the vampires you should use the priest spell Negative Plane protection. To kill them you can use the Mace of Disruption +1/2.

    Well, about golems Crawl's great guide here: leaves nothing but a few details to say - there are some more weapons that can kill colems, I prefer ranged weapons if at all possible ;)

    For vampires I recommend to use: protection from fear or remove fear, possibly chaotic commands, protection from negative plane (means: level drain), sunray and smithe evil priest spells. Daystar has a sunray effect and is very effective vs. vamps. The azuredge axe works also quite well. Again, since your spells are a limited source, use them on a few frontliners and support them with ranged weapons fire. Later you`ll have the great mace of disruption, making your life easier. The amulet of power, you get from aran linvail gives protection from negative plane as well.

    [​IMG] Oh, yes .... haven't used it for quite a while since I haven't had clerics in my last parties :) Turn undead is cool with a high level cleric like Anomen (though he sucks in any other respect) or especially Viconia :D ....

    [​IMG] If your truely stuck on the golem, lure it to a door it doesn't fit, turn of your AI and get someone like Minsc or Korgan, equiped with the most powerful bludgening weapon in you inventory, and keep running Minsc/Korgan(or you if your a nasty fighter)back and forwards, giving it the occasional hit, and getting your priest to heal you up if you get too injured. It works but is too cheesey for my tastes.

    As for vampires, cast negative plane protection on you main fighters, max out their AC's, give them undead slaying weapons, and as Blade once said "its open season on suck-heads."

    Liches, main spell to use, death ward
    main equipment, anything that gives you magic resistance (obviously the holy avenger works VERY well.) and if you know where the lich is, you could position a priest so that he/she is just out of sight and cast silence in the area near the bugger.
