Ivanji, that's the funniest damn thing I've heard all week.

I say a Friends group

Ross -- Monk (he claims to know martial arts)

Joey -- Barbarian (he is always threatening to beat someone up) or Cleric (he performed the ceremony for Chandler and Monica)

Chandler -- A jester (always joking)

    Monica -- A Paladin (she's anal retentive)

Phoebe -- A standard Bard (her guitar playing stint in the coffee house)

    Rachel -- A thief, maybe??

I don't think this group would last long, but as far as I'm concerned, that's not a bad thing!

Now the trick is to actually make the party and play it. How about some portraits and some soundsets...

    hmm lets eee...

blackadder - gotto be a mage, always trying to use his brain

baldric - bard, he always tries to break the mood with a poem or something

george - ranger - tries to keep the peace

lord flash - paladin cavilier - he's very full of himself, but definately a fighter and in it for the forces of the right]

cpt darling - cleric, at the end of the day he fails in anything other then taking orders and obeying them

general melchet - fighter (retired) - he remembers the good old days, the battles that he fought as a youngster, still gets into the mood, but is ultimately incapable, especially because of his dicky bladder

I recall this being done before (as per Buffy), with similar results.

But still I'm a fan of Buffy (which makes me an even bigger geek), so I'll add what I think could be done here. Note that this is in later seasons (around #6), when things took more interesting turns.

-Buffy: Lawful Good Undead Hunter or Lawful Good Monk. The former choice is obvious; she's the Slayer! The latter is if you wanted the martial artist Buffy.

-Xander: Neutral Good Fighter/Thief or just a straight Thief (Swashbuckler?). Frankly, I don't think he's a Jester, or even Bard. He doesn't sing. He doesn't play an instrument. Oz does, and he's probably somewhere in a temple in Tibet.

-Willow: True Neutral Mage or Sorcerer. Hard to say witch ( ;) ). Of course, Willow's the good guy, but her delvings into magic became, well, unhealthy. Justification for the alignment.

-Tara: True Neutral Druid. She's a Wiccan, practicing the way of the earth and Gaia and yadda yadda. Of course, a Mage or Sorcerer makes more sense, but healing is necessary. A Good alignment makes more sense, but the limitations are there. Sorry.

-Spike: Chaotic Neutral Thief, Fighter/Thief. I recall there was a mod that let you play as a Vampire or something. Could be used.

-Dawn: Lawful Good (your choice here). I'm thinking Fighter, simply because it's the broad, general class. Don't forget to make her a halfling. ;)

How about a party based on the A-Team! Remember that show? The height of 80s kitsch.

    Hannibal -- Paladin
    BA -- Fighter
Murdock -- Mage (he has the most esoteric skill of the group -- flying)
Face -- Bard (all that charm just oozing out of him, plus his impersonation abilities)
The reporter chick -- cleric (pretty weak, but she was always trying to help them restore their reputation, so it's the closest fit I could find.)

C'Jakob, I'm also a Buffy fan, so I'm going to address your post directly, as well as Malovae's.

-Buffy: Class is definitely correct. I'd probably make her alignment more neutral good, but that isn't possible with those classes.

-Xander: I agree with the alignment. I have never seen any evidence in the series that justifies making him a thief. You may have simply done this to round out the party. He doesn't sing or play an instrument but if you remember (the Prom Night episode), he got upset when he did not win the class clown award. So, I'd say either jester or fighter, your choice.

-Willow: Definitely sorceress or mage. I'm seriously tempted to make her either lawful neutral or lawful good. The cliffhanger involving her destroying the world was because she became corrupted by magic. I put her as lawful good because she's always trying to obey orders and rarely goes out on her own.

-Tara: I can clearly see that you were trying to steer away from making her another witch like Willow. No problem there. I'd have her lawful neutral, but once again, the game rules for druids don't permit that.

-Spike: I'm having a hard time getting the thief aspect here. He's definitely chaotic neutral, certainly a fighter, I guess he could be a thief.

-Dawn: Definitely not lawful good. If you remember the first season she was in (can't remember the number), she was banned from several stores in the city for shoplifting. She'd be a chaotic good thief. I have her as good because she always tries to help out her sister and be on the side of goodness.

All right, Rastor, you got me there:

-Xander: You're right about the thief. But conversely, does he do anything that marks him as a Fighter? Sure, he's a buff guy, but he shows little proficiency in combat, so how do you justify him being a Fighter? Bah, if only there were a Commoner class. ;) :p

-Willow: Not too sure. I'd have to say Neutral Good or even Chaotic Good. She just doesn't seem like the Lawful type. I mean, come on, she was stealing cars and getting high off magic. Although having a Chaotic alignment doesn't necessarily imply recklessness, I still stick with her being Neutral/Chaotic. I have to agree with the good, though.

-Tara: Not too sure about the Lawful Neutral alignemnt. But it's not especially important in her case, as she's more of a minor character.

-Spike: Spike skulks. He hides. He breaks in the school and terrorizes the faculty. I still stick with him being a Thief or a dual-classed thereof. Possibly even an Assassin, although I don't recall him using poison.

-Dawn: You got me there. I forgot about the shoplifting and Halfrek-wishes whatnot. Thief is certainly justified here. But if there were a Commoner class, I'd stick it on her. :p

    ---

    More from Buffy:

-Giles: Neutral Good Fighter/Mage: Not too sure about the Fighter part, but I think the rest is well put. He dabbles in arcane magic, and defied the Watcher's Council. The Fighter part is mainly to dampen up the Mage levels; Giles is never really depicted as a real Warlock. Besides, he used to be called "Ripper". ;)

-Anya: Neutral (?) ---: Anya's kinda like Xander in this case. I can't really picture her as any class. Commoner, if it existed, would fit her best.

-Angel: Lawful Good Monk or Fighter. I think the Lawful and Good parts are well justified. He's a fairly disciplined and benevolent person (except when he's really happy). The Monk part is solely there to incorporate those martial arts skills Vampires seem to pick up. The Fighter part, well, he seems capable of beating people up.

-Riley: Lawful Good Fighter: I think it fits his character well. The only part where I think he's not considered Lawful is right before Walsh died. And he had a darn good reason not to be.

-Drusilla: Neutral Evil Enchantress: I can't make up my mind for the Law-Neutral-Chaos thing for her, so I'm just gonna say Neutral. She displays some forms of magic, as to Kendra and Giles.

-Faith: Chaotic Neutral Fighter. I don't really feel I need an explanation for this. :p

-Oz: Neutral Good Bard. He's a band. What more do you want? I couldn't make up my mind about Law-Neutral-Chaos, so I just say Neutral Good. But I give him a 10 Charisma; he's very monosyllabic.

    ---

Wow, this is how big of a geek I am. Wondering what the Buffy characters would be like in AD&D format. :toofar:

-Anya: Why couldn't she be a sorceress? Sure, she doesn't have the magical abilities of Willow, but she was a demon, and her powers have begun minorly reasserting themselves after Xander called off the wedding. I'd have her alignment chaotic good. She always tries to do the right thing, but doesn't care for human sentimentalities and is somewhat selfish.

-Giles: Agree with the fighter/mage. While he would have been chaotic neutral as the Ripper (remember the candy episode?), he's certainly neutral good now.

-Angel: Not much I can say there. I'd say that you hit right on the mark.

-Drusilia: She's not lawful, so either chaotic or neutral. As you said, tough one here. I'll agree with evil, I'd actually make her a diviner though. Isn't one of her abilities clairvoyance and seeing past and future events?

-Faith: Fighter. Honestly, I can't make up my mind between chaotic neutral or neutral/chaotic evil. She's about as far from lawful as you can get, and takes great pleasure from taunting others. I'm going to go with what you said, because I honestly don't think that spreading evil around is her intent.

-Oz: Agree on both counts. He could be a shapeshifter though...
