Over the weekend I saw Talon of the Silver Hawk in the bookstore.

Has anyone read it or heard anything about it yet?

I liked some of the Krondor stuff, but didn't want to spend the $20 being un-informed.

I have just finished it reading it a few minutes ago. I won't say it's a great book, but I found it enjoyable to read. Maybe not worth buying in hardcover though.

The biggest problem I had with the book was that the story was pretty standard. I've read any number of fantasy books built along the same basic premises as Talon of the Silver Hawk. Though that really didn't take much away from the book in any case. I found the book better than the Serpent Wars books anyway... not that that says much.

Avarahtar! I haven't seen you in ages!

If you don't recommend this one, what would you suggest? I've been staring at the fantasy book section and can't seem to pick anything.

Mathetais, I've been around, just not overly active. I'm in the chatroom quite often though.

Anyway, I've mostly been reading older books lately, like The Chronicles of Amber, Elric of Melnibone, and the few Thieves' World books I can find. So I really don't have much to recommend... Maybe the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. It's a good series though it can get hard to read sometimes because there are too many different story lines with too many different people. There are times that I think I don't really like the books, but for some reason I can't put them down.

And of course the Farseer Trilogy, the Live Ships, and the two books that are out now from the Tawny Man trilogy by Hobb of course. If you haven't read them, do so. As soon as you possibly can.
