Tech Q: How disable the movie with Irenicus at start?

    [​IMG] I mean the introductory cut sequence with Irenicus casting spells at you. A Golem appears. Irenicus leaves. A shadow thief gets killed.

    Can anyone tell me if it can be disabled? It's just annoying the 100th time you sit through it. :rolleyes:

    I think you can't... just don't start a new game again and again and again and again :)

    Or just click on Start New Game and go drink some coffee :) That's what I did the second time I started the game.

    [​IMG] This is what you get for trying to test out heaps of different characters.

    When the game was new I tried...
    Disable Movies=1
    ... in baldur.ini but that is not much help. I think it disabled the three "logotype" movies and "intro" movie when you start up BG2. Anyway, those movies you just ESC or CLICK past.

    That cutscene though. Ayayay! :(
    So, go make coffee you say, huh? <sigh> I guess so.

    I combatted this by loving the way Irenicus says "they act sooner than we had anticpated". Looking forward to that line makes the cutscene quicker but its still a pain.

    PS. take note of this line next time you hear it, evil

    I created a multiplayer game, and saved it just after Imoen released the main char.
    Now I just reload this game instead of selecting "new game", create a new character, save under a different name, and copy the save game to my single player save folder...

    I downloaded & installed the patch from Baldurdash and am very happy with the result!

    That cutscene is now shortened to about 30 seconds. It's funny too! :D

    About the question what the solution of 99 percent of al problems in the world is; Alcohol or Coffee...

    Take Irish Coffee, then you got both Alcohol and Cafeine :)
