Well, I have the golden torso and have found the head that gives me the quest. But where in the heck are the legs and arms? I have heard people say in the Temple area near the Unseeing Eye Cult, but I have searched and nothing. All I can find is a door that is not pickable. Did I miss a key somewhere?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Um... How did you defeat the Unseeing Eye? I think behind that unpickable door is the Lich tomb you're seeking...

I think that unpickable door is the entrance to the Mind Flayer area. If you have defeated the unseeing eye, you will recall the cultists that have left the cult, but are still in the sewers trying to stop it. They sould be straight down the passage from the nothern-eastern entrance to the cult section of the sewers(not the cult compound, just the sewer map where that is located). Well, anyway, if you will also recall, the leader of the anti cultists asks you not to open the tomb in the middle of the room as there is a very stong evil aura eminating from it. This should be all the hint you need.
And if you haven't yet completed the cult quest, get the first half of the rod first, show it to the anti-cultist leader, and that will clear out the room before you open the tomb. Hope that helps.

Ah... Had you talked to them first, you'd have had a little more adventure, as well as the key to the door where the Lich you seek is... <shrug> Ah well...

Well there's your problem. You were supposed to INVESTIGATE the cult. What if they were a good cult, and did positive things for the community? Wouldn't you feel bad?! See if you can't find a key on Gaal's (?) body that should open a door on your way into the main entrance of the cult. (Where the Otuygh [sp.] is). Through this door is the ACTUAL Unseeing Eye quest. It is very XP rewarding, as well as, ho hum, some Gloves of Dexterity-

    *pause for commercial break
Ghoul Lord: Fighter, need a little more zip in your hip? Get Gloves-O'-Dex! You'll be dancing to the proud sight of a -4 dex bonus in no time! Already have 18+ dex? No problem! find another worthy adventurer, like Keldorn Firecam or Minsc and his space hamster Boo, who are collectively as slow as a sloth, and they will thank you eternally! Order now, only 5000gp or you can find a pair guarded by a few buddies of mine in the Ghoul Town in the sewers under the Temple District! Get here soon! This deal won't last if you wait and go to the Underdark first! It's our first and last Going Out of Existance Sale!

    - and some other cool stuff like the Lich tomb you seek. It's right on the other side of the door.

[IMG] Welll...are you sure you killed the MAIN eye?
There are several beholders in the lair, but in my games the Main Eye didn't even show up until I had the assembled rift device (which is supposed to be the only way to kill it <I thought> )
    :)

In the so called "normal" approach, I talked to the guards (Gaal, I believe) and convinced them I would try to help them. He gave me a key to that locked door. This gives you access to several other key areas (not to give away TOO much) which includes getting the first half of the Rift device. (You also have the chance to run across one of those NASTY Liches!)

Since you've closed the 'front door' you may still be able to get in thru the 'back door'.

At the very bottom of the beholder lair is an exit that leads to the interior of those other areas--past the locked door.

You might also double check the bodies of the guards and make sure you didn't just overlook the front door key.

    Good Luck! ;)

I explored the entire sewer area and can't find any anti-cultists are anything. There is no tomb, in fact the only living thing in the sewers now is the merchant :)

Does this mean I have no chance of completing the lich quest?

    <Ahh..>
Were you asked to investigate the Cult by someone from one of the Temples?

If you were, that should have opened the quest in your journal. The entrance to the lower levels (Cult) from the sewers is in the top left branch of the sewer map. It may not be open if you haven't been approached by a temple. :)
    :D

    /Edit/
Sorry, I thought from your last post above maybe I misunderstood your problem and you were still in the sewer area. But I went back an re-read your first questions and realized you had to be through the sewer portion to get to the guard to kill them. So disregard this particular post! :)

All I can say is ou really did mess up there. Sorry, but I had to say it. Killing those poor cultist. How narrowminded of you ;) Anyway, try Mobeus' suggestion of the back entrance from inside the beholders lair. If not, there is always the ever painfull posibility of the load button if you saved before killing the cult and haven't really done much since then.

For all we know, it could have been a good cult. I mean, are your eyes really that big of a thing when it comes to getting more power? Moles have itsy bitsy eyes and look at them, they are, well, stupid, blind mammals that dig wholes in the ground and deposit feces in their living quarters. I mean, how sweet is that?! Imagine if you had NO eyes, or were blind! Wait... Blind people are blind... eh... No offence to any blind people are reading this, er... having this read to them.

I say we are only depriving our other senses by being so sight-dominated. Haven't you ever seen all of the Blind-Ninja movies? They are so much better than any other ninja except they are constantly running into walls.

I NEED TO STOP. SERIOUSLY. OK... IM DONE.

the backdoor will be closed if you haven't gotten gaals keyand talked to the ex-cultist and gotten the first part of the rift-device and talked to the ex-cultists again.

[IMG] another thing i wanted to mention:
you can't run around killing everything that seems to be evil.investigate first.most of the time they will be evil indeed then kill them.sometimes the will be good and only seem evil after knowing this you can go and kill them also.
such is the way of the neutral.

There seems to be a bug in this quest as I also met TWO unseeing eyes (the second upstairs (I quess the one Elsin removed); it was red so a solution was mandated; then of course all the cult members also went red).
I don't know if killing one of them would have sufficed for the quest (depends on whether killed eyes or left over ones count).

That gaget you pick up from the temple was a real looser. Without a breach first it wouldn't work and after a breach a couple of well placed spells killed the eye as fast as that space-ripper (or what ever it was)

I had no trouble using the rift device on the Unseeing Eye... I used no magic whatsoever; it doesn't kill it though, you need to do a little additional damage before it's dead...
