[IMG] Well, I just entered the crypt in Lord Tavorick's mansion and, no matter how often I reload, I'm stuck in this silly loop with that demon initiating the dialogue over and over again. YUCK. I'm stuck.

I find myself very short of user support by Atari. They yet have to learn that there is a patch 1.3 out that they could put on their website. Why, after all there's an auto-updater. Which doesn't work, btw. Which is a known issue, btw. The actual NWN 2 game site only offers one download: The merchant's friend download, for pre-order customers.

These are the little things that take the fun out of the game: The excessive performance demands, the interface (needed an external fix for that), the patches (I needed to download my 1.3 from a fan site to install it manually; 1.4 beta doesn't run - and even if it would, it still lists my demon loop as a *known issue*) and so on, and so on.

Unlike in NWN thus far there is no critical rebuild available in the sequel in case all breaks down and so I have a nice game with nice graphics but an arduous periphery. Bleh.

[IMG] Yeah, this is a well-known bug  . Not sure if you have managed to get pass this, but the way I did it is to let the cutscene loop until eventually the guards and my companions kill the demon. I know it's very annoying, but I keep clicking when each conversation starts to make it go faster and while that is going on, the guards rush out to fight the demon, followed by Khelgar I think. One or more of the guards will die but oh well....

Because two of the guards died in my playthrough, I did not get the full bonus xp :( . Up till then I had managed to keep all of them alive.

The trigger seems to happen as the monster enters the door so I managed to avoid this alltogether by quickly running through the door and engaging after the initial run of the cutscene -- this prevents the demon from going through the door and avoided the loop.

    Added:

Note that I had to use the haste spell and some careful use of the pause feature to get through the door before the demon got near to it. I've repeated this several times and each time I have been able to avoid cut scene repeats this way.

This happened to me as well. It only ended when I finished the demon, which cost the lives of one of the guards, who I had been trying to save, since I couldn't get into the fight. It seemed a little random, sometimes it happened when I ordered my companions to follow me, sometimes when I moved. I'm not sure it is to do with him entering the door, it might be an area trigger, since I had him pinned on the other side at one stage, and the cutscene triggered again.

For me it seemed to be triggered whenever my main character went anywhere near the door. I ended up sending Khelgar out and having him dice the demon for me.

Silly thing is in my first run I beat that demon, easily, level drained, but the fight was not too hard - and then it was _not_ buggy. But I left some soldiers dead. Being good aligned I wanted to do better, or 'gooder', and save them all - and I made the fateful mistake and reloaded - along came the bug.

After four or so hours of being annoyed and trying a multiple times, I "solved" the problem by handing two of my chars 'The Detructificator' (aka n2_killerweapon), to allow them to rush out and kill that silly demon in the 5 sec intervals before the bug kicked in again. That sort of worked, and I only went through six or so loops.

Even with the demon dead, my char triggered something when he passed the door, just that I was spared the loop. Dropped the swords afterwards.

    Bleh.
