[IMG] let's hear the weirdest/worst/best bugs you've encountered in computer games.

here's one from (the infamous) daggerfall. A guy tells me to kill one of his adversaries and gives me a time and place to find him. When I go there, it turns out that the guy who hired me is the adversary and you have to fight him lol. (yes this is a bug not a suicidal attempt :) ) no gain from this quest.. oh well

This thread is for fun Bugs. Not to complain and whine. I just guess not many of us have encountered any. But it is a good topic anyway. I hope to hear some fun stories. :)

My favorite (though perhaps it's not exactly a bug)was from F117 Stealth Fighter. I was flying along low on fuel, trying to reach the nearest airstrip when my fuel finally gave out just a few miles short. After losing airspeed, my plane stalls and goes into a dive. As I'm diving, my airspeed naturally increases and I pull out of the dive, and by the time I stalled again, I ended up higher than I started!. :hahaerr: I was actually able to fly all the way to the airstrip by diving and pulling up, but I wasn't able to quite make the landing... :)

[IMG] The duping bug in Diablo2. You hold the Alt key and then press - Q G K S F4 A O. Then the item is duped.
Newbies who ask me how to dupe always fall for that :).

[IMG] Here's one I found in Wizards and Warriors, if you have a female mage she can wear the armored bras found. I guess gender overrides class retrictions.

[IMG] In Might & Magic 6, you can actually learn your druid plate armor skills. Just go to the learning place in Castle Ironfist, learn the druid everything and click where the plate armor option is for for example the knight. Then you'll have the toughest druid in the world! Doesn't work with patches though.

[IMG] This is off-topic, so please forgive me. BTA's post reminded me of how much I enjoyed Stealth Fighter (thought it was F19, though... and *blank* I can't remember the company). Once when running a mission over Norway against Veteran opponents (with Realistic Landings) I shot down 17 enemy pilots. I used up all my missiles and all my vulcan ammo! However, at about 10,000 feet, just about the time I used up my ammo, I got hit by two missiles. The first barely scratched the paint, but the second sprung a fuel leak, took out some of my instruments, and damaged my flight controls. With two or three fighters still after me, I was in serious trouble. So I stalled the plane and fell straight towards the ocean floor. At about 150 feet I pulled up and cruised just above the waves. Holy mackerel, it worked. The fighters continued to circle over the spot where I stalled out.

I even managed to make it back to base and land the plane with the flight controls damaged. :D :D :D

I've had a few, but my favorite was a nasty Bioware Bug in BG2. Somehow, druring the course of the game, I noticed that I familiar was nowhere to be found. At first, naturally, this worried me. But to my glee, I found that my Kensai/Mages constitution was the same as before *and* I still had the extra HP afforded me when I created my pseudodragon familiar:D Now not only did I get to dump that worthless dragon familiar that was taking up far too much room and stinking up my backpack, but I got to keep all the advantages of having a familiar in the first place. I was overjoyed and thoroughly hope the Bioware Bug enjoyed his pseudodragon lunch *burp*

Capstone: That thing WORKS? No wonder Jack Higgins uses it every time his books include an aerial pursuit scene...

Sorry for the OT. I've seen the error 5 thing too... It's hilarious...
