the components of the gnome's spell

    ok, so i found everything the dude needed, but i can't find any ore, in his book, it says that a normal weapon should do, by 'normal' i understand no +1,+2,etc weapons, the problem is that all my weapons are not non-magical, and i can't seem to find any 'normal' weapons on the map...so, where can i find ant non-magical weapons overthere?

    Sir Ai Rayzor is correct. You can get some broken equipment off the Captian (can't recall his name off hand) after he dies. You know the guy who is getting pelted by boulders thrown by giants. He's in the middle of the same map as Oswald's ship.

    i already head the broken stuff in the first place, thats what i'm sayin, i got everithyng, but the gnome wouldn't react in any way...

    O.K. So did you put all the components in the table inside his ship? If not then you need to do that.

    There are 2 locations where you can get broken weapons or armor for the gnome, both out doors, but I missed both of them, and by time I figured it out, I was into the first level of the Ice Temple, and the stuff was gone (I'd been resting). However, when I got to the second level of the ice temple, there was a room with a bunch of regular weapons, and I was able to use one of these.

    BTW, you only need one of each item except the diamonds, so you might as well drop only what you need onto the table and sell the rest to the gnome.

    yeah, u can actually give all the stuff to some dude in the ice temple in the end, so u dont have to go to oswald again, i didnt know that before...

    [​IMG] Actually, you don't need a broken anything. I put in a standard non-magical mace my dwarf was carrying as excess load and it worked fine. And even Oswald is selling a regular weapon or two I think, so you can just buy one off him.

    However, if you gave the items for Oswald's Mending Spell to Nathaniel then you will gain much less XP for this quest. So, I suggest you to go back to Oswald.

    When you finished with Ice Temple, go to Oswald's ship(Crash site) and you will find a note from Oswald as well as a potion with permanent resistance.

    Just a question. Do you really need to repair Oswald's ship?
    I just went in the Icetemple, with the parts in the back of my head, I wasn't looking for them specifically. I just went on with the game and at the end of chapter 4, there was the ship, repaired and everything.
    Is this normal? Did I just had the parts in my inventory and didn't I noticed it being repaired?
    Or is it just an optional quest?

    i think the quest was optional, but it looks better if you get the parts for the spell, but if you don't it's gonna be repaired anyway...

    If you take the parts with you and do nothing to fix Oswald's ship but still Oswald was there at the end of chapter 4, it seems that the quest was optional, doesn't it?
    However, it is advisable to help Oswald fix his ship for both quest XP and a potion Oswald lefts you.
