Is the most outrageously grotesque and corny piece of moronic rubbish i have ever heard.
What an idiot you must be, to think something like that sounds decent.
It is awful, On that note why don't we get Rod Stewart to do a number for Star wars??? :tie:
Or maybe westlife to sing for Farscape.

Now i am quite a closet fan of pop and soft rock music but even on it's own this song is just a crime against the music industry. :borg: :flaming:

I am sorry but my enjoyment of the rather wonderful and well acted (at last) pilot was marred by this early butchery! :alien:

Any other opinions would be helpful (please state nationality out of interest)

[IMG] (US)Well, what can I say? Yes, its horrible, but here's what makes it good...

When I turn on STE and I'm in another room cooking dinner or whatever, and I hear the jammin' tune, I feel like I can climb mountains!!?

Really, though, I thought it was nuts when I heard it, now I want to buy the soundtrack and give it to fellow ST nerd friends on their birthdays for a tongue in cheek gaggy gift. What are you gonna' do?

The theme song set off quite a debate here in the US. I REALLY didn't like it at first. After hearing it for 20 some odd episodes it kind of grew on me. I still think they could have done better.

[IMG] I love it! It gives you the feeling that humanity can triumph over any obstacle and that no matter what happens we have the will and determination to continue moving forward. I feel like that every time I hear the theme song - it may be the combination of the lyrics/images/music - but it works for me!

I am in total agreement with the fact that they could have done better. A lot better, in fact.
I find it really corny, and I was dumbfounded as to why they changed from the superb classical music, reflecting the level of intellectuality of the the earlier series (maybe to the exception of Deep Space Nine), to a kind of soft rock crappy song, which reflects nothing. Maybe it inspired some people to go climb a mountain. Personally, it inspired me to change channel.

You mean the music after 'These are the voyages of the starhip Enterprise blahblah'?

Hey, that one's a classic. It rocks ;)

No, Volar, the topic is about the theme song to ST:Enterprise, which is the prequel to the earlier(later?) shows that you are thinking of. There is no speech in this one like there was in the others.

The first time I heard the theme song, I agree with you all, I thought it sucked. Eventually though, I actually heard the lyrics, and it really grew on me. I sort of appreciate it now. Fits the show wonderfully. It is about humanity overcoming any obstacle, and since they don't have an all-powerful starship in this one, it goes well with the show.
