The Exile of Liriyen Faey (FA)

Liriyen is a Fey.

A fey is a faerie race, vulnerable to light, iron and drowning, resistant to poison. Able to shapeshift at night. They have pale skin and often black or deep brown hair, often long. they have pointy ears like the elves and teeth like a vampire while having the wings of bats. They are tall and very evil, delighting in torture and allied with the Drow.

Only able to drink blood and very few types of food they are often caught weak. Manipulative and decieving the have the compassion of a lump of clay, but whatever rumours will not explode in ovens if they haven't got a hole ( )

This is the tale of Liriyen.

Liriyen walked along the corridors of the castle of Queen Tirala, she had had a vision. Liriyen was a psionic, a mage of the mind with psychic abilities. She had seen the assassin clearly, he was there waiting in her chambers. Liriyen burst through the unguarded doors in time to hear her queen scream. Liriyen ran in and pushed the assassin away with her mind, however the queen got caught in the power surge and was thrown against the wall, the Assassin flew off - flying takes lots of energy so he wouldn't get far. Liriyen went over to the Queen to see how she was. The queen glared at her and caleld for the guards - too late, Liriyen realised, she had been holding her dagger.

Liriyen awoke in her cold stone cell, she reached towards the door but hissed as she realised it was iron bars, she cowered in a corner. The queen must have thought herself the assassin. Liriyen must escape - fast. The guard is nearby.

Ideas
Somehow get the keys off the guard.
Cower in the corner and wait until something happens.
Amuse yourself by making the skeletons dance.

Liriyen contrives a magical sleep (à la Fatigue) on the guard.

 

The guard blinks and turns to look at Liriyen, he sways slightly shrugs and leans against the wall. he slowly topples over clattering in his armour. the keys come loose off his belt and slide along the stone and almost fall down a hole. Liriyen will have to be careful.

The Fey reaches out with her psyche, and grabs the keys (à la Telekinesis).

She reminds herself to be careful with the keys, should they be made of iron.

Liriyen reaches out for the keys and stifles a scream as they burn her, she drops them onto the stones of her cell before wrapping her hand in her sleeve and trying again to hold it, it works, she opens the door and steps into the hallway.

too the right is the sound of people moving and laughing - perhaps the guards quarters. To the left it seems pretty quiet, in front of her is another cell, it has a skeleton in it playing a harp. A bard arrested for his lyrics still playing through his death.

 

The Fey closes her eyes, and meditates for a while, trying to sense the presence of others.

Liriyen stands still and closes her eyes allowing her mind to sense others around her

To her right there are a lot of people, fey, wearing armour by the sense of it, to her right is a few people, Fey again, but they don't stay around long often hurrying past, may be the best way to go out, Liriyen allowed her mind to wander further around to sense other beings, the iron surrounding her in the cell doors stops her though and a searing pain explodes in her head as she falls to her knees, she had to stop, the iron weakens Fey considerably, Psionics can also be affect through the mind, especially dangerous

NOTE - You can gain new spells through certain actions and interactions, this FA is more free than others I have done meaning you can do outragous stuff and have fun. You can talk to people

Spells - Unfocused means cannot be cast, most the time they will have a *# after them (times number) indicating how many times you can cast them.

 

Liriyen looks around, trying to find some rats or mice and preparing to shapeshift. Trust them to know the quickest way out of here, she thought.

(I'm hoping this works like BG shapeshifting, so she doesn't lose all her items.)

 

Liriyen attemps to shapeshift and her eyes become unfocused... nothing happens, it must still be daytime. On closer inspection Liriyen realises that there are no rodents to speak of. she feels a prickling on the back of her neck, as though she is being watched - she notices an eerie silence. The skeletal bard has stopped playing and is now watching her intently.

NOTE - Fey can shift into any creature, however, Ravens, bats, black cats, adders and hares are their favourite, shifting into these allows everything to be done easier and more efficient

 

Liriyen focuses and casts Fatigue.

 

Liriyen is about to cast the spell, when she realises - she has nothing to cast it at.

 

The skeletal bard stares vacantly at her and appears to shrug as though expecting something, it takes a bony finger and scratches it's arm - or what is left. He seems to be expecting something, as he did with many prisoners before.

Liriyen is enraged and yells:"Don't stare!"

Eze whacks herself with her writings

 

She yelps in surprise - and blasts the skeleton into itty-bitty bony shards (assuming that's the result).

 

Liriyen shudders as the Skeleton sighs and seems to glare at her, it opens a skeletal mouth and says:
"What is thine problem?"

 

Liriyen holds back a giggle and replies:"I NEED to get out."

 

The skeleton nodded thoughtfully and plucks a single string on his harp, it lets out a long clear note.
"So, what is it thine needs? You seek your escape as many before, yet is it what thy deserves? Was this the prisoner I awaited for decades?" the Skeleton shifted his wait and looked expectantly at Liriyen, she shuffled he foot and began to relay her reason for being here. The skeleton drummed his fingers on his knee as he listened. His vacant, hollow gaze was somewhat off putting for Liriyen. The skeleton sighed.
"From what I know, you are who I wait for, I am bound to serve you. Whatever you need, I can make for you. What say you?" Liriyen thought. She could use many things at the moment, as her stuff she had was taken away.

 

"I desire a weapon to protect myself. I think, that my magic will need a sword's support in some situations."

I suck. I know. But FA's are cool.

 

"A sword is thines' request, a sword is what thy shall have." he began to play on his harp - the sound had taken on a metallic quality and Liriyen could *see* the notes gliding around the chamber until they all bumped into eachother and formed a point, the blade, and the hilt. a sword lay on the floor before her, it's blade like blue glass and it's hilt was made of silver.
"What is the blade?" Liriyen asked
"Draten, a metal used by Drow and Fey like, take it, see if it is thy weapon." Liriyen picked it up, it was perfectly balanced and light, it's blade was thin and razor sharp, looking almost too long for its hilt, it was smooth and cold, the hilt fitted her hand and was cool but not too cold to handle comfortably. She tucked it into hre belt and found a scabbard there, she turned to the Skeleton who grinned back in a way that only a skeleton could, skeletons had limited facial expressions.
"Anything else required by thee?"

 

"Grant me the wisdom to look into the future, let my mind be free of worries, so that I can see my purpose in this as clear as crystal, let my aim be true, let my sword tear asunder all who dare opposing me!"
