Can anyone tell me if the 3.0 spell Polymorph Other became Baleful Polymorph or Polymorph any Object?

You mean in 3.5e? Polymorph Other just became Polymorph.

Baleful Polymorph is a specific, offensive polymorph -- you turn someone into a frog, fish, squirrel, etc. (Kind of like BG2's Polymorph Other.)

If you want to do stuff like change yourself into a bird or turn your ally into a giant (or whatever else), just use Polymorph.

Polymorph Any Object is just in a league of its own. (It pretty much turns anything into anything.)

Does anyone know where I could get the spell discription for Polymorph Other? I have the 3.0 monster manual (which I use for certain monsters like enrinyes, nymphs, slaadi, vampire spawn and the like), but no 3.0 PBH (hey, D+D wasn't cool in high school, owning a book meant the game could be traced back to you and the books are very expensive on top of that) so I have no idea of what to do with the yuan-ti's spell-like ability Polymorph Other in effort to keep the yuan-ti as pure to it's 3.0 idea as possible (utterly despise 3.5 yuan-ti purebloods, they're like humans with 4 monstrous humanoid HD).

    Here

The basic rules for 3.0 and 3.5 are subject ot the Open Gaming License. Very convenient.
