    - The character I was quoting was (incorrectly) quoting a famous 'Bard', a bard from this world.

    I assume 'the Bard' is Shakespeare, however, I'm not entirely sure what game this, so I'll go with Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy as Americans call it).

    Nope, not Fahrenheit, the game takes place about 150/200 years ago, and yes the Bard is Shakespeare, the character who originally said that line is Julius Ceasar :) .
