The game suddenly became unplayable!

    [IMG] HELP!!

Let me explain the problem. I had installed BG1 and TotSC about two months ago and have been playing it ever since. I'm in the last chapter now, and I've finished all the TotSC areas. I just came back to the city and went to the Iron Throne headquarters.

I paused the game for a minute, and when I tried playing it again - it became really slow, it blocks up for seconds at a time, the characters respond to movement commands with a delay - in short the game has become unplayable. I tried re-installing which didn't work. I tried playing from an earlier save - but that turned out to be slow a well.

Any idea what caused this or how to fix it? I didn't change the configuration in any way and it was working fine until then. Please, somebody help, I am so close to the end. How frustrating :bang:

Defragment your hard drive. Stuff like this can happen if you leave big holes in various places such as after deleting a big amount of files.

This is about BG being unplayable but not by going slow

BlackCat had BG and TotSC installed when one day he tried to run the game but it just came up with an error message saying a file was missing, he tried reinstalling ti, deleting everything then installing it and defragmenting his drive but nothing works - he can't play it at all.

    Any ideas on this?

Copy your saved game and have someone try it on their comp.
If it works fine, then you still won't know the cause of your problem, but at least you'll know it's not because of a corrupt saved game file.

    Sorry, that's all I can suggest. :(
I sometimes have a similar problem with BG2, but just closing the game and restarting it makes things fine again, so your problem is more serious.
