Is that weapon (10 lb masterwork cleaver using the hand axe proficiency for 1d10 damage, crit 17-20 x3)taken from some obscure 3e arms manual or is it something Troika made up?

EDIT: Incorrectly had the game attributed to Atari.

looked in the "arms and equipment guide" not listed there, nor any other weapon with even anything near similar stats. My guess is Atari made it up, heck the game can hardly be called "balanced" with that bastard sword that "allways hits" etc.

It might be from some obscure book of some kind with a gazillion prestige clases and feats etc, but not from any of the most "common" books used at least that i can recal.

Probably not -- it seems too overpowered anyhow.

I' m glad. That thing shouldn't exist in 3.5E. If it had a smaller crit range (19-20 or 20 only) and required an exotic weapon proficiency it might work in 3.5E, but in it's current incarnation....

EDIT: Apparently, while the ingame description says it's masterwork, it is actually +1 and keen. In other words an unenchanted version of the weapon is 19-20 *3. I would actually allow that if it required an exotic weapons proficiency to wield it.

Troika made the game, Atari's just published it.

As for the cleaver, a nod to the original Diablo maybe? The Butcher is legendary.
