I got this idea from the chatroom. I haven't seen a topic like this before, so let's go! What would the name(s) of your future child(ren) be?

Or if you have kids, what are their names?

[IMG] If I have a girl (which I'd really like), I'd vote to name her Rose or Ebony, possibly Jessica or Louise. I love girls' names, hehe :)

Of course, no matter what happens, my wife will end up having chosen. *sigh*

I'm really keen on three girl names. Athanasia Yesterday, which means "the undying yesterday"; Alyssa Catherine, which means "pure rationality"; and Regan-Mireille, which means "ruler of light". Lovely!

Alexander, Phoenix, Jade, Sarah, Jessica, Mariah..

that's about what I can think of, I might just be biased to name one Storm (inspired by DJ :p ).

Though like Gopher, I'm sure my going to be wife would have a say in a lot of this, lol.

I've always liked "Fenix," also "Victoria," and lastly "Argyle." Argyle is an awesome name, but I've never heard it attached to anyone, so I would be a bit reluctant to do that to my kid.

I think that I would name a boy Alexander after my father, but I would have to talk about that when I meet my future wife...
I haven't really thought about girls names.

For the Boys: Aaron, Joseph (Joe), William (Will), Robert (Rob/Bob), Jack, Frank, Fred, or Huckleberry. :p

For the Girls: Sarah, Jessica, Melissa, Kathryn (Kat), Emma, Beth, or Bonqueisha.

The other day I met a really beautiful girl whose middle name is Aerie...not to mention the street next to mine is named Aerie Hill Dr. so maybe the name Aerie might squeeze in to one of the girl's middle names. :rolling:

My son's name is Arlyn Frederick, after his deceased grandparents Arlyne and Alfred (my MIL and Dad, respectively). It's a Jewish custom to name children after the deceased, never the living.

If we ever have a daughter, we'd go for some variant of Maxine (Velcro's aunt) and/or Helen (my grandmother).

My (almost) six year old son is named Miles Benjamin (after my maternal grandfather Milton and my wife's paternal grandfather Benjamin).

My (almost) three year old daughter is Sofia Joelle (after my wife's maternal grandmother Shirley and my paternal grandmother Jenny).

As Rally mentioned, we Jews name after the deceased (except some Sephardic Jews who name after the living). We also tend to use just the initial rather than the whole name. I scored big naming Miles after Milton because I got three letters.

But seriously, if I have children, I think Zoe would be a good option for a girl. If it is a boy, I want to call him Harper.

I would have no idea. To far away.
The only thing I do know is that it wouldn't be a family name. I would never name a child after some family member, that would just be... boring.

My 5 1/2 year old son is named Alan Michael. "Alan" because it works in both English and Spanish, and we liked it. "Michael" because we liked it with "Alan".

My 2 1/2 year old daughter is Emily Rose. "Emily" after her great-grandmother Emilia and "Rose" from her grandmother's middle name, Rosa. The grandmothers are my wife's mother and maternal grandmother. (They're both not only still alive, but take care of her while we work. I never have been a good Jew. :) )

There will be no more....

When my wife was still getting her B.S. and we were dating, she had an assignment to come up with a timeline of her future. We worked it out together one night over the phone. We planned two children then too, (K/C)rystal and Andrew. :D

My (nearly) 2 year old son is named Jack Alexander. Jack after my grandad who died the day ebfore he was born, and Alexander after his dad. Within the next month it'll be changed to Jack Macaulay Allan. Jack for the same reason, Macaulay just because I like it, and Allan after my dad.

For future children ( which I definately plan to have! ) I like for boys: Kieran/Ciaran, Matthew, Luke, Reuben, Robin, Dale, Hayden, Hadrian, Cameron, Aaron and Jordan.

For girls I like: Sarah, Jade/Jayde, Jasmin/Jasmine, Kirsty, Holly, Rhiannon, Jodie, Shannon, Marie and Leah. :)

[IMG] Hey Shell! My son (3 in 3 weeks) is also named Jack. After my grandfather! Wild. His middle name is Brian, after my brother.
I also have a daughter named Pamela Eve. Pamela after my wifes sister, Eve because we like the name.
We call here Eve. Right now it's Baby Eve.

Nolan and Norah are the only two names I care about. We'll have to see what my future wife has to say about it when the time comes. I can be persuaded for something better, but not anything like an overused name such as Mark or Stephanie, etc. Blah.
