[IMG] Today my boots first set upon the packed snows of Easthaven.

And already I've found a hilarious screenshot candidate. Alas though my familiar technique of hitting the "print screen" button and voila having a screenshot in the ScrnShot folder, is not working for me. In fact there was no "ScrnShot" folder, so I created one, but still no dice. What gives? (Note: I do not have HoW yet)

The book doesn't seem to shed any light on this. So please help me, avid IWD screenshot takers. ;)

    Also, here is my party:
Led by a dwarven fighter and followed by
    - a gnome fighter
    - a halfling cleric
    - a halfling thief
    - a gnome illusionist
    - a halfling fighter

PS I downloaded the official IWD version 1.06 patch (from here at SP) and did the usual, sticking it in the Override folder.

That looks right to me. I've had to add my own ScrnShot folder before, and I have never had a problem. The fact that you don't have HoW yet doesn't matter. I'd say make sure you spelled ScrnShot correctly or even check to make sure it's in the right directory.

Also if you took a screenshot during dialogue mode it will not show up (unlike in BG and SoA). So in order take a shot of dialogue, you have to end it first. test the print screen key while you are just standing around or during combat, and see if it works.

Well hopefuly that will help. And please do enjoy your travels through this fine game.

[IMG] the_elven, you are the man!

Or ah the elf that is! :p :hahaerr:

That was exactly the problem, I was in dialogue mode. Well thanks for the tip!

LOL Big B 'the elf' that was good.

Hey not a problem. glad to help when comes to bringing high quality screen shots to SP.

On a side note, I guess if you use another method of taking screens, you could get them to show up while dialogue mode, but I always stick with the good ol' print screen key.
there is more info on how to do that in a fine guide supplied by Slappy: http://www.sorcerers.net/Main/screenshots.php

[IMG] Yes, I felt guilty for not choosing dwarves, halflings, and gnomes as much in my other BG games. :p

They are in Kresselack's tomb and are doing great so far, but I ran into a "Wight". I've found that magic can hurt them, and a short sword +1 could. However, a "High Quality" Mace or a "HQ" Long Sword couldn't hurt them. So I take it the game doesn't consider these "High Qualtiy" weapons as +1? And is that what you need to kill Wights, +1 weapons? Well I killed that one, but I'm sure I will run into more.

Yes, "high quality" weapons have no enchantment on them, and Wights need +1 or better enchantment to hit.

[IMG] I did have a high quality long sword, but it was not working. It doesn't matter now, I've made my way to the Temple of the Forgotten God.

Why weren't there any Wights in BG2? I love the magic missle deal some of them had going on.

I love the game's music but it doesn't always play. Sometimes I fight without any music. I've checked sound options and have volume turned up and all that good stuff. I'm just hoping for more good music.

Oh yeah, and one other thing. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but I thought this was cool. After doing the Vale of Shadows, I went back to Whitcomb, the barkeep in Kuldahar, and told him about his traitorous barmaid/priestess. I was able to convince him to let me have her possessions and got some good loot. Who says IWD is *all* hack n' slash? There is some meat to it.
