Being originally from Chicago, I have very particular tastes when it comes to pizza.
Mine is with sausauge, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, mushrooms, peppers, olives and more than one kind of cheese.

Funny you should mention that, I just had pizza.
My perfect pizza would be just like yours, Elios, except for the olives.

    Perfect pizza?

Tuna, shrimps, ham, pineapple and a freaking lot of cheese.

Here in Oulu we have the most pizza places per capita in Finland :D There is this one place that sells the hugest pizzas I've ever seen, the diameter is four feet, I think. There's a standing challenge that if 3 eople can eat it at one go, they get another one for free.... :D

Back in my college days I could put away an extra extra large pizza all by myself.
    Man, I miss those days.
Too bad pizza places aren't open at 1:30 am in the morning.
Wait! Yes, wait, I had pizza the other day and there are three slices left! Oh sweet feast of the gods!

Simple tastes here, so my perfect pizza would be ham and mushrooms. :xx:

@Arabwel: what is the name of the huge pizzas place ? Got to take up the challenge !
Aaah, pizza at 4 o'clock am, very few things beat it.

Kralizek, maybe WE should take up the challenge? I can't recall the name of the place for the death of me, but it's at Puolivälinkangas... *does a search* It's the Pizzeria Romeo place...

I seemed to missrecall the size of the pizza... it's merely 70 cm x 70 cm...

Mexican tomato sauce and creamy cheese as the basic ingredients, on a well fried bottom (I hope this is the right word). Not blackened, but almost.

    As ingredients are:

    -minced meat
-salami (or pepperoni, depending on quality of restaurant one can be better than the other)
    -tuna fish
-pineapple (double dose, more often than not)
    -garlic
    -and, of course, oregano

*Sometimes in addition to all this is eggs and chicken.

    Can you say: "mmMMMMMMMMMmmmmm.... YUMMY!!"

I eat pizzas around once per two months, I used to do so weekly. And they never cease to amaze me with how good they are. Pizza has the same incredible fresh and spiced taste as perfect fast-food, only it never fades away towards the end. It has the same juicyness as something that I can't come up with, but certainly beats every other food to juicyness. And... well it's just the best type of food there is. Out of experience I can say I would eat pizzas daily (done so for some 3 weeks in a row) if they weren't so bad for your health when eaten like that.

My favorite pizza has ground beef, bacon, pepperoni, sausage, onion, and extra cheese. All this on top of a deep dish (not stuffed) crust. Then top it off with some dried crushed red peppers and an extra large dose of grated parmesan cheese. It's heaven on a plate!

I just tried Papa Murphy's last night for the first time. It's new in our area. The concept is that they make your pizza and you take it home and bake it. Since it's new we got a coupon for a 1-topping family size (about 22-24 inch diameter, I think) for $4.99. I'd have to say that it was pretty good, but could have been better. Maybe next time, I'll try their deep dish.

Deep dish is OK for a change, but give me a thin-crust Noo Yawk style pie any day! Thank God, I'm back in Philly! If it weren't for Pizzacato, I'd've starved for good Pizza in Oregon.

Basic: Mushrooms, onions, roasted peppers. Maybe sausage if I'm feeling naughty. Mozzarella cheese with a sprinkling of REAL Parmagiana-Reggiano or Locatelli. Cheddar has NO place on a pizza. :nono: :flaming:

If pepperoni is involved, there should be nothing else on the pizza to distract from the sensation of the grease collecting on your lips and running down your chin. <sigh>

Frou-frou: Pesto and shrimp on a white pizza. Puttanesca - tomato sauce, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, and Feta. Spinach, mushrooms, onions, garlic, roasted peppers, and pine nuts with tomato sauce, crushed red pepper, and no cheese except for the Parmigiana-Reggiano. Margherita - fresh tomato, Buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil.

Shall I simply post the whole menus from my favorite lunchtime pizza joints?

So long as it has lots of pineapple, pineapple is always nice.

[IMG] My special pizza is pretty basic and simple: with tomatoes, hacked bacon, onions and garlic under a cheese cover (usually young gouda cheese).

[IMG] I used to work at Pizza Hut, and so I experimented quite a lot. For me, pepperoni, bacon and pineapple, with as many different kinds of cheese as possible and making sure that the pepperoni goes on top so it crisps up nice -- the stuff heart attacks are made of, but I just think of the line from Robocop -- when told smokes will kill him, Clarence (the guy who plays Red Forman, damn, I forgot his name!) says "you wanna live forever?" :D

Pineapple is actually something very common on a pizza.

I prefer a more simple pizza, something like a pizza Caprese: tomato, mozarella and some spices, nothing more, nothing less.

A lot of pizza restaurants have pineapple pizza on their menu. Those are often not the traditional Italian restaurants however. What do they often call it? Pizza Hawaii? It doesn't sound really Italian, but it doesn't taste bad.

I have a friend who served his mission in Italy -- he said that Italian pizza is an order of magnitude beyond what we eat here in North America -- the way we pile toppings on revolts them -- they prefer one or two toppings, max.

Me, I used to think I'd eat anything, but having lived in Japan (CORN on a pizza??) I learned my lesson.
