Yea, looks pretty cool. There's a bunch of movies and trailers and interviews about it in the SPS area.

It's sadly no Might and Magic X though. But I have to admit it looks great and if this game sells well, the chance of seeing MMX will increase.

At least the graphics will be up-to-date this time, considering how good job Source-engine did with Half Life 2. Now let us hope that the RPG elements are still there instead of laying raped in the back-alley... IIRC, they have removed the party management and it's now about one man beating thousand orcs or so.

Well, Bloodlines was a decent RPG based on the source engine, so it can be done. The combat was quite annoying though, I hope they can find a better way, especially for melee.

In fact that's precisely the reason why I don't dare raise my hopes. The last M&M game to use a "famous" engine was MM9, and it was far from being the best in the series.

I'm just going to adopt a wait-and-see attitude until we start seeing something more concrete about the game, but I'll say one thing for now: it better be a real role-playing game. If it's an action game in disguise (Crusaders of Might and Magic anyone?) I shall not be pleased.

I doubt anyone of us here will be, but you know what? Even if it is a "fast'n'furious frag'em'up", it will sell. True; no one will remember it after a few months, but guess the developers nowdays don't care about that.

Here is a LINK to a great article about things that usually go wrong with new games. Disagree about part #19, but the rest is clear stuff.

Actually, when I remember some VERY VERY frustrating FPS games that had jumping, I'm not sure I disagree with anything in this article.

As I said we can always hope that one of these days, another really good game will see the light. Though judging how many years it takes between good games, we're in for a long wait.

Agreed! I did not even thnk of that. When I saw the Screen Shots, I was thinking of an Elder Scrolls type game - not Cruasders.

Oh, GREAT linkage, Wirhe! I'd read this once before, somewhere, but had never bothered bookmarking it - thanks! :)

But I'm with Ziad on #19 - is my name Darth Mario? :skeptic: I'm a Jedi bleeping MASTER, and I can't figure out some elegant way of bypassing the whole 'frogger' sequence in my travels through Nar Shadda? (oh, and why does EVERY Lucasarts FPS go through Nar Shadda - the NS Chamber of Commerce giving some impressive kickbacks or something? ;) )

C'mon, the movie Jedi make it look effortless to shoot around like a ping-pong ball with no ill effects, why should it be harder for me to cross from one rooftop to another than it was for Helen Keller to learn sign language?!?

And I'm sorry, I'm a hero/scientist/soldier - not a world/galactic hopscotch champion. To paraphrase the ranter: don't throw this instance of revealing the extent my reflexes have degraded in with the intent of 'lengthening' the playtime of your game. I'll just have to go find a 'noclip' cheat and that really breaks immersion...

But back ONtopic - YAY! I'd drifted away from M&M some years back; hope has been reborn! :D
