    My website appears to be up again, at least for the time being. I do not understand the whys or wherefores, which have been relayed to me through a third party who understands even less about computers than I do and now sounds like "There are weasels in my pantaloons." According to him Geocities was upset that people were accessing files from links from other places instead of from the link from the website itself. This makes no sense to me and I don't even know if it's really the case. But for now, they have put the pages back. I don't know how long they will stay there. Orrin may make me take them off, and it would really be well within his rights after the scare I gave him. We may also move the entire site if our overtures to linguistic institutions pay off.

    Actually, that rather makes sense -- Geocities gets no possibility of advertising dollars (banner click-throughs) if your site is accessed without the page actually being brought up. C'est l'internet. . . .

    Regardless, glad everything turned out OK!
