the unseeing eye quest

    i entered the sewers and i saw lots of mind flyers.how do i defeat them{did i enter the wrong area i defeated theifs that charge you 1000 gold and i entered the secert door}

    You are in the wrong area for the unseeing eye quest: to do that you don't need to go through a secret door, it is (MINOR SPOILER) along the spoke heading northwest from the wheel formed by the sewers.

    As for the mind-flayers, it doesn't really matter whether you kill them or not (though I think they have one or more item components); there have been various discussions as to how to kill mind flayers. Personally I went at the ones in the sewers with a high-level party, taking out anyone who seemed to be casting spells at me first (my standard battle tactics).

    a part of the crom feayr is located in mind flayer lair. To defeat them, you should use summoned creatures like mordenkainens sword, invisible stalker or skeleton warriors because they're immune to the mind flayers spells. I heard that ranged attacks should work nicely too
