This game is (or at least could be) a gem...

    [IMG] Greetin's. :)

    I bought this game over a year ago, but since I was really waiting for NWN HoTU, I was quite disappointed by bugs and the sheer lack of documentation, and after 3-4 days the game wound up on the shelf - and there it has been since.
    Until last Saturday.
    I decided to have another go at it, and installed it with all patches.
    Though I am not too impressed of the story, I find this game quite the gem. It has several VERY cool features, and is reasonably well-balanced.
    However, there's still a thing that bugs me - the lack of documentation and/or item descriptions.
    So I have a few questions:
    1) I found the gloves of a geezer in red plate. :) While they appear to have no magical properties, they are VERY useful. Are there many items that are magical but doesn't show anything in the description?
    2) I've found some TZGY scarabs that can be used as necklaces... What do these things do?
    3) I plan to play this again with the Co8 additions, can anyone give me a list of the things I should install? I've seen this...:
    * ToEE
    * Patch 2
    * CO8 v. 3.0.4.
    * Moebius' temple dll.
    Is this list correct?
    As for the last item... The zip file I downloaded from Moebius' site holds many files... Do I just extract these into the main directory of ToEE?

    Thanks in advance, gals'n'guys. :)

    3)'s all good, if you don't want to install the official patch #3. As for Moebius' patch, there's a readme inside, I presume with install instructions... otherwise it's probably just copying it over from the zip to the game's install directory.

    OK, thanks.
    Just one question on pt. 3) ... Should I totally avoid Patch 1?
    Does patch 2 hold the fixes of patch 1 also?
    I have downloaded the patches, but I seem to recall that a guy somewhere said that in order to properly patch the game, you must run the patch(es) from the website... Is this true?
    Oh, and from skimming the read.me of Moebius zip file, I could find no install instructions... But I will have a look again. :)

    Well, Moret said patch #2 includes all fixes from patch #1. The only strange thing is that patch #2 is smaller than patch #1, so go figure.

    As for running patches from the site, that's nonsense. They're meant to be downloaded, not run online.

    [IMG] Great, thanks a bunch Taluntain. :)

    I think I take back that about the game being reasonably well-balanced, btw...

    SPOILER:

    I met with the Hezrou yesterday (CR 28 against a party of lvl 10 characters?? That's ridiculous!) :mad:
    I managed to take him down, but not without at least 2 of the party members being dead when the battle was over.
