hey people im new to the boards and i was hoping one of you could atleas tell me whats going on before i go on another hacking spree, i already got the butcher of hommlet mostly for fun/items. anyway..
iv got a four char party (2 sorc 1 barb 1 fighter) and im in the temple (not sure what floor) but theres a long hall way with a guard commander or something (i killed him already) with a nice sized group of unfriendly looking things at the end. i seen them first with claivoiance/audience if i rember right it continued working long enough to get an idea of how much of a fight i was in for. then i think the game slowed so much i could barely move the mouse. next time i tried just walking up and saying hi. same. now no matter how i approch them it in all essence freezes. any ideas?
iv got the vicks/wedge mod and i tried the official patch #2 from atari but i tried it after i installed vicks n wedge. has some kind of error message when i try 2 install but then it works any way. should i save game file then reinstall then patch the mod or...?

The thing is ridiculously hard on resources. Not even half a gig of RAM is enough, let alone slower processors, even though it's an isometric engine. As it looks, it shouldn't have higher requirements than BG2, if not lower ones, and machines that run BG2 too fast will choke and stutter on ToEE, even making it unplayable.

 

I played all ToEE on a P4 3.2 Ghz - 1 GB ram - ATI X600 (256 MB of video memory... I set it up to play Doom 3) and I got some slowing here and there, mainly in the fire temple and in the final battle, but also running in the corridors of the 3rd floor of the Temple.
I think you are on the Temple 4th floor.
Try disable everything in options -> video: set "particle fidelity" to 0 and "shadow type" to simple.
You could add official patch 2 first, then a mod (OK this means you'll have to copy your saved games and reinstall everything).

 

greaat. well iv actually got it to halway work. i can get it to run at normal speed now but i cant save anywhere close to hrudek (?) somethin like that. and when i try to minimize it so i can ctrl alt del if something messes up it makes my computer crash so bad i have to pull the plug. the power button on my comp wont even work (iv got windows xp pro)
and on top of that iv got a whole new problem. how do i kill the god the red priest summons? is it possible or do i have to kill him before he can summon it?

 

Go on fighting, resist when the Evil God Iuz shows up... And you'll be saved! (at least, that's what happened to my party!)

 

thanks alot alberto i owe you huge.i was doing good then got smacked around a bit by the god and rembered what you said and used ressist evil. that was pretty cool. sometime im going to play to their again with hacked chars (vick/wedge and the black wizrd namely) and see if its possible 2 loot a god.. for a second i though both of them were going to smack me i did kinda kill a good deal of his followers... (half way tried not to give 2 many spoilers)
