    [​IMG] This is an old book, but its been recently re-printed so its getting some attention lately.

    It's called This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti. The book is a novel that follows a small college town where some major plots are unraveling. Behind the story of the human characters, there are demons and angels fighting it out.

    For any aasimar paladin wannabe's out there (like me) this is a must read. Lots of burly angels with glowing swords vanquishing demons back to the Abyss.

    Nearly every page of the book describes sulfur-breathing, black-winged, slobbering demons battling with tall, handsome, angelic warriors on a level of reality that is just beyond the senses. Peretti's violent descriptions of exorcisms are especially vivid: "There were fifteen [demons], packed into Carmen's body like crawling, superimposed maggots, boiling, writhing, a tangle of hideous arms, legs, talons, and heads."

    The best part ... can anyone guess what the Head Angel's name is???? :good: :holy:

    (I'll wait to say what it is until I get at least 200 guesses ... err ... 2 guesses ;) )

    I loved this book - it has been a while since I read it, though. But I do remember inhaling it as well as the other book that goes with it - "Piercing the Darkness."

    You are right - it IS a must read for all pally-wanna-bes out there.
